CBS television thrusting 'married gays' on public

CBS Television is promoting tonight's debut of "The Amazing Race 4" by proudly proclaiming a male homosexual couple on the show to be married to each other.

The primetime reality show features 12 teams of two people with a pre-existing relationship racing around the world in a quest for a million-dollar prize.

'Married' male couple on CBS

In current promotional ads on the air, the network touts one of the teams – consisting of two men – as ''The Married Couple.''

"Yes, they are a married, gay couple," a CBS spokeswoman tells WorldNetDaily. "They're married and they're gay. Is there an issue?"

On the show's website, viewers are encouraged to click on biographical links for the teams, to learn more about their personal lives. The write-up on the "married" male couple includes the following:

Twenty-eight-year-old Reichen is a pilot and teaches at a flight school in Los Angeles. A former U.S. Air Force officer and a graduate of the U.S. Air Force academy, he is married to his teammate Chip. He loves skiing and flying and is very into being physically fit. He describes himself as "detail-oriented, caring and thrill-seeking." He speaks French and has traveled internationally quite a bit. Reichen's views on relationships are much more liberal than Chip's – He enjoys flirting with other guys, but that makes Chip upset.

Owned by Viacom, CBS says "Amazing Race" has previously featured "gay" contestants, but this is the first time it's trumpeting homosexuals as actually being married to each other.

"They bring a tremendous amount of enthusiasm into the show. They're great!" says the network.

When WorldNetDaily pressed CBS to find out more about the alleged matrimony of its contestants, the network explained that's what Reichen and Chip had written in their application to be on the program.

"Why can't they say they're married? What's the difference?" said the CBS spokeswoman. She went on to state she "believe[d] it's legal in certain states," though she did not specify where the Californians had any binding ceremony, if in fact they had one at all.

Family advocates are blasting CBS's marketing move, saying there's no such thing as legal homosexual marriage in the U.S.

Robert Knight

"Two men is not a marriage. It's pretend marriage," says Robert Knight, a former news editor at the Los Angeles Times who is now director of the Culture and Family Institute.

"This is profoundly dishonest and is intended to persuade Americans that so-called 'gay marriage' is already a reality, when no jurisdiction in America has legalized it."

While there's no government sanction for homosexual marriages, the state of Vermont has approved what it calls civil unions, the legal equivalent to marriage in everything but name. Two other states – California and Hawaii – have approved laws regarding benefits of domestic partners.

But many other states are passing legislation to resist the status of homosexual marriages.

On Tuesday, Texas became the 37th state to approve a law preventing the legal recognition of same-sex unions that have been sanctified by a government elsewhere.

"Like the vast majority of Texans, I believe that marriage represents a sacred union between a man and a woman," Gov. Rick Perry said in a statement.

For broadcast television, homosexuality is not a new concept.

Sean Hayes portrays homosexual on 'Will & Grace' (NBC)

Sitcoms like ABC's "Ellen" and NBC's "Will and Grace" have been among the first programs to put "gays" and lesbians in the limelight, and just this week, the cable channel Bravo – owned by the NBC division of General Electric – announced its summer launch of TV's first homosexual dating series, "Boy Meets Boy."

"As bad as 'Ellen' and 'Will and Grace' have been, ['The Amazing Race' married-homosexual promotion] is an outright lie," said Knight. "This is the worst we have seen from the broadcast networks. ... It's another reason why the big networks are losing viewers, and people are gravitating toward alternative news sources such as WorldNetDaily and the Fox News Channel."

Knight suggests people objecting to this and other programs log onto websites like OneMillionMoms.com and OneMillionDads.com which provide links for viewers to opine to broadcasters and advertisers.

American Express is one of the advertisers to have had high-profile tie-ins with "The Amazing Race," and while the company no longer has its "Moment of the Week" promotion, it says its current slate of commercials will continue to appear on CBS.

"We are a global company and advertise on a wide variety of programs through a number of different media to reach a diverse audience – current as well as potential customers," American Express spokeswoman Monica Beaupre told WorldNetDaily.

Other large companies which have had special advertising segments on previous "Amazing Race" series include Royal Caribbean Cruises, T-Mobile and Kodak.

As WorldNetDaily reported in October, Kodak is proud of its commitment to diversity, which includes homosexuality, even firing a 23-year Kodak veteran after he objected to a pro-homosexual memo circulated in the company's e-mail.

Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS-TV says the network is committed to displaying diversity in the shows it airs:

As broadcasters, we aim to ensure that our national viewing audience is reflected in our programming and our people.

We recognize that a workforce comprised of a wide variety of perspectives, viewpoints and backgrounds is integral to our continued success.

This is not a campaign, but rather a fundamental way of doing business at CBS, and we continue to be steadfast in our goal to become more diverse and more representative of the public we serve.

Tonight's season premiere of "The Amazing Race" airs at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, in what's considered to be the family portion of primetime. Officials say previous episodes have drawn an estimated audience of nine million viewers.

"There's a buzz about the show, but we have not received any calls one way or another about the participants," said Joe Barnes, director of marketing at KOIN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Portland, Ore.

In San Francisco, a market with a large homosexual population, the CBS owned-and-operated station KPIX-TV speculates more people will be talking about the "gay marriage" angle once the program is broadcast.

"We've heard nothing from gays saying 'Thanks,'" said KPIX spokeswoman Akilah Monifah. "We've also heard nothing from homophobic types saying, 'How could you?' either."

I saw that. The adds passed by so quickly that most probably missed the description of these men as married. They are not married. Marriage exists as a tool of society to produce a generation of offspring to replace today's generation. Homosexuals can't do that. Further a man and a woman provide the best environment for the raising of children. CBS has just insured that our family will NOT be viewing their advertisements, and I will let their sponsors know what I think about this.

Hooray for you! Television has become a moral wasteland and the networks and Hollyweird still don't get it. There are better ways to spend one's summer.

I enjoy some of the reality shows during the week. This CBS program has had homosexuals on each Great Race program. Homosexuals make up around 2% of the populace and are represented as if they are 12% on the Great Race and Survivor programs. Evidently they can't put on one of these shows without moral deviency.

My wife and I have noticed that after six Survivor programs, they haven't had one Hispanic on yet. During this time they have had 12 homosexuals on. Hispanics make up 13% of society and homosexuals make up around 2%. Go figure.

The bad news is that a show portaying a "married" gay couple is showing on CBS.

The good news is that a show portaying a "married" gay couple is showing on CBS (no one will see it!)

Another Viacom "reality" program, The Real World on MTV has also made it standard practice to include at least one homosexual in the cast.

Survivor did have a Hispanic contestant, a young woman deputy named Jessie. I think it was during the Africa series. She got sick very early on and was voted off.

"Yes, they are a married, gay couple," a CBS spokeswoman tells WorldNetDaily. "They're married and they're gay. Is there an issue?"

Not exactly an issue, but a matter of truthfulness. They're not married and, from the following, looks like they're not even terribly "committed" to one another:

Reichen's views on relationships are much more liberal than Chip's – He enjoys flirting with other guys, but that makes Chip upset.

Ooh, I can see it now - will Reichen have an affair? Will Chip get mad? Will they break up, right here on "The Amazing Race"? Tune in and find out?!?

Considering that 90% of people tend to be more influenced by the visual, television has become a new religion. It is analogous to Plato's cave allegory and the Oracle of Delphi. Television as a propaganda tool helps create visual phantasms (or as Thomas Hobbes called them, 'phantastical images') of the brain.

There are three ways people are influenced according to the school of behavioral psychology - - visual (sight), auditory (sound), kinesthetic (emotion). The kinesthetic or 'feeling' is also based on olfactory and tactile sense, much like Pavlov's salivating dogs.

Visual images and sound portrayed can be used to anchor emotional and/or conditioned responses desired by those that present them, which in the case of television, is the Leftist television media, actors who create phantastical images in film, and Leftist politicians who pander to symbolism over substance (like Rush always says about them).

They worship for gods 'those appearances that remain in the brain from the impression of external bodies upon the organs of their senses, which are commonly called ideas, idols, phantasms, conceits, as being representations of those external bodies which cause them, and have nothing in them of reality, no more than there is in the things that seem to stand before us in a dream...'

Like the necromancy of the late Senator Wellstone's funeral rally, or "funerally" (see the Steven Plaut article, The Rise Of Tikkun Olam Paganism http://www.arutzsheva.com/article.php3?id=1760, in reference to the Wellstone brand of Judaism), the use of Martin Luther King Day, or constantly invoking the "spirit of the '60's," the Left attempts to raise spirits of the dead as a totem for worship. This was also done with respect to Diana, Princess of Wales, following her "tragic" death in 1997.

Consider the seemingly coincidental circumstance that Diana is also the name of a pagan Greek goddess, and idolatry. The figurative deification of Princess Diana and the massive outpouring of public grief are a form of civil worship. The heaping of flowers at Kensington Palace as if it were a shrine, melodramatic eulogizing and the political expressions of how the world should comply with her posthumous intent concerning certain issues is a modern use of idolatry. Royalty magazine, in a special edition, had a large drop quote spanning across two pages: "She needed no royal title…to generate her particular brand of magic." The whole magazine was dedicated to pet Leftist political causes mixed in with the pictures and soliloquy about her sainthood.

This idolatry also partly played into the modern conflict of pagan vs. Judaic concerning her billionaire playboy lover, Dodi Al Fayed. Although many consider Islamic belief to be of Judaic origin, it is pagan. The crescent symbolizing Islam was also used to symbolize the pagan goddesses (Diana, Isis, etc.) and is used by modern neo-pagan nut cases as an icon. The use of the meteorite at the Dome of the Rock as an excuse to label it an Islamic holy site, is idolatry. This is contrary to the idea that Muslim faith is monotheistic.

There is a clear connection between modern neo-paganism and ancient paganism related to Islamic conflict with the Judaic roots of Christendom, as I have shown earlier. A focus on how this is manifested in a modern sense only requires a look at pop-culture icons in entertainment, sports "heroes," and attempts by the Left to use a pseudo-Christian sense of pagan moralistic idolatry to demonize political opposition. (I present to you U.S. Senator Rick Santorum as a useful example.)

Astrology is another blatant example of pagan idolatry. What else is it? The planets have the names of pagan gods. The constellations are grouped as phantastical images of mythical legends. The astrologers are revered as prophets by psychotic, neurotic adherents in frequent fanatical devotion to any musings these charlatans utter. The proliferation of psychics, seers, soothsayers, healers, gurus, etc., etc., ad nauseum, is a social psychosis, an occulted (or masked) promotion of Leftist propaganda (see the Camille Paglia lecture at Yale http://www.bu.edu/arion/paglia_cults00.htm).

Marxism and their forms of Cultural Marxism are a religion, a collection of cults. In many cases they worship a dead Karl Marx like some (and I stress some) Christians worship a dead Jesus, and not a living God. This is no more apparent than in the practice of enshrinement and regular grooming of Lenin's corpse in the former Soviet Union, the use of Princess Diana, Martin Luther King Jr. and others.

It is the religious fervor associated with the pro-abortion advocacy. The societal practice of abortion is ritual mass murder upon the altars dedicated to idolatrous vanities, a collective human sacrifice to pagan idols. It has a similitude to the Teutonic paganism of Adolph Hitler, whose idolatry was the idea of a "master race." In effect, this genocide was a mass human sacrifice to those pagan idols.

The idolatry of perversion is another totem of the Left. Homosexuality is an idolatry of perversion. Gay marriage advocacy is a cult of perversion. Pornography is an idolatry of perversion. Much of television, movies, and the literary culture of the Leftist elite in print, are nothing more than a cleverly masked promotion of their Marxist cult (that is to say, masked much like actors of ancient Greek drama).

The Left is properly identified with a 'confederacy of deceivers (and perverts) that, to obtain dominion over men in this present world, endeavor, by obscure and erroneous doctrines.'

The Left is obsessed with erecting idols, images and symbols to hide their agenda(s), as well as to expand their congregation in these cults of perversion...

What an aggressive, in-your-face sick attitude this B.O.D.* has. I am fervently hoping that these kinds of attacks will provoke fence sitters to stand up for the truth - that homosexual behavior is NOT normal, NOT natural, NOT gay ("carefree, happy, joyful"), and that the vast majority of Americans do NOT want sick propaganda shoved down everyone's throats.

Yes I remember her. You may be correct there. I do note however that each show starts with two blacks. I'm not a race baiter by inclination so this is foreign to me, but it does seem that this show ignores hispanics for the most part. I'm not sure why.

What is happening here, is more of the use of images to change perceptions, in ways in which the Left has been so effective over more than half a century. There is a thread that has been active at this venue for the past week, on the absurdity of thinking in language, which is very relevant to the subject.

The fact is that language and verbal arguments are no match for moving images--even palpably misleading images, such as Hollywood and the networks subject us to in their frenetic pursuit of "diversity," "equality," and a more "inclusive" world order, etc.. People need to wake up and understand that this is not just a matter of indifference to moral values, and traditional attitudes. This is part of deliberate, propagandists' attempt to undermine moral values and traditional attitudes. People need to understand that there is no middle ground with the folks who are peddling these images. They have been tearing up American values for 50 years, and will not stop until there are no distinctly American values, nor any recognizable Western moral standards left.

With the fall of Bolshevik Communism, the American Left simply softened their tone into Clintonesque seductive intonation, and proceeded towards the intended kill.

Understand well, nothing about this has to do with "tolerance": nothing about it, has to do with anyone coming to grips with reality. It is all part of the neurotic war on reality, which has been the motivation for every egalitarian collectivist movement since 1789.
