Yay! I finally made it to tonight's messages! Timesink, I'll reply to your very good message #1151 tomorrow. But you're right about Clay and the camera - he just
connects with you through it. Many amateurs are skittish and shy with the camera.
G'night, all! I'll reply tomorrow...

They showed Randy Jackson in his Jackson 5 costume on one of the AI shows. He played the guitar. Why would they drag out footage of the Jackson 5 after showing Simon's eariler years if it wasn't the same guy?
He was imitating, gag alert. I grew up with the five from day one and I can guarantee you Randy is not the same Randy of the family, here are current pictures of The Jackson Randy, home photos:
Randy is the baby boy and second on the left
Randy is in the middle, does he look anything like AI's Randy to you?
These pictures are two years ago!

Did anybody else besides me in America get the interim female voice that told me to stop dialing? That is very suspect if just Clay voters got that interim message. Did any Ruben voters get told to stop dialing?
My daughter, yes she is a girl, when not getting a busy signal for Ruben, got the same ridiculous message you did, but you know what she thought nothing of it. She sadi it happens and often also even when your calling in to a radio station. So sorry honestly there is no conspiracy! Also, you should check out the post today about Clay laughing he started a scandal, he said he 'saw' the results five minutes before it was announced, gun huh?

But what has been proven here tonight sadly, is that Ruben being black and winning has offended just as many whites.
Whats so hard to comprehend about my above remark? Do you understand prejudice or do you not see it on the dozens of posts here because you understand it too well?!

A desperate liberal trying to make something out of nothing so you can feel "outraged".

I think people are a little quick to throw that label around. People can think Clay was better than Ruben without being racists. On another thread I'm on people can think LeBron James is destined for bad things without being racist. Criticism of a non-white person is not the same as racism, unless the criticism revolves around racial stereotypes or epithets there's no reason to label it as anything other than criticism. Just because somebody prefers Clay's Broadway style over Ruben's big timber doesn't make them racist or a bad person or even wrong, just means tastes vary. And thank God they do, what a boring world we'd live in if they didn't, varying tastes are the key ingredient to variety.

Just Piper - I care that Clay didn't win because I think he was far superior with more range. I think it should have been Kimberly and Clay in the finals. I care not what color Ruben is...although I do wonder why an obese black man is considered sexier than an obese white man. I would like enlightenment in that area.

Josh survived because the whole damn Marine Corp. was voting for him, which I thought was unfair.
And for those saying Kimberly Caldwell was a professional, no doubt. Her stage performances blew everyone else away hands down. She should have went much farther than she did. Julia DiMato was knotted up with stage fright the whole show, she should have been the first one out.
To: herkbird
Yeah, you and I saw this thing the same way. Josh only lasted as long as he did because the entire US Marine Corps. was voting for him. Unfair, but not his fault. Kim Caldwell was very good. You're right. But of the two I preferred Kim Locke. I thought she had the better voice and I preferred her demenour. One thing Paula Abdul got right was that Kim Locke was a "classy lady".
To: Celantro
Kimberly Locke had the best voice of all the women starting about half way through the competition. I really thought that Kimberly was going to be in the finals. I just didn't think they would let two guys be in the final shootout. I wonder if they plan on making an Elvis Presley style movie with Clay and Ruben, like they did with Justin and Kelly. Argh!!!
I taped all of the shows, I'm going to go back and see if I can see Clay looking over Ryan's shoulder to see who won. I get a real kick out of watching the early auditions. Some people will do anything to get on television.
To: herkbird
>Kimberly Locke had the best voice of all the women
I liked everything about Kimberly Locke and I picked her for second place behind Clay. My wife picked her to win. But as she and Josh both said, although Clay should win, he won't because the judges want Ruben to win.
I am not much of a television viewer but I did watch and enjoy this show. I'm convinced now that the voting was illegitimate so they've put me off the idea of watching it in the future but until I realized what was happening, I was having a good time.

Just saw your jpegs. Guess a private joke flew over my head. I didn't grow up with the Jacksons but my friend was engaged to Greg Allman after Cher. She's a freeper who doesn't drop by very often because she's not addicted like I appear to be.
I am alot older than Clay but taste is subjective. What disgusts you about Clay is probably what I like about him because I like everything about Clay. If Clay sang to me, I'd pass out before I could turn out the lights. lol

Ehhhh ... I'm not sure Julia ever really forgave her ... I think she just did it so as not to come off as petty before the millions of people she needed to vote for her. Don't take my word for it. Here's Julia herself, from her American Idol home page, AFTER she was voted off:

I finished dialing and thought I'd reached #02 when the female voice told me to stop dialing. This hadn't happened to me all the other times I voted. I used to vote for at least three of my favorites. I liked Trenyce's energy and didn't care that she had a record. When it got closer, I began voting just for Clay.
The interim voice stalled me for at least five minutes from dialing and then it took two more hours. I was one of the freepers who went to bed and hit re-dial under my covers. LOL That didn't work so I got up and finally got through. I AM NOT VOTING ANY MORE because tv isn't a big priority of mine and I let it become one with AI.

Josh survived because the whole damn Marine Corp. was voting for him, which I thought was unfair. Seeing how far Carmen Rasmusen got on the strength of being a Mormon IMHO (seriously, folks -- you think she was better than Kimberly Caldwell and Rickey Smith?), if Josh was a Mormon as well as a Marine, he may have won.
I hope my girl Julia can loosen up now. She did pretty well Tuesday and Wednesday.
