A new report argues that chimpanzees are so closely related to humans that they should be included in our branch of the tree of life. Chimpanzees and other apes have historically been separated from humans in classification schemes, with humans deemed the only living members of the hominid family of species

The logic of evolutionism and belief we are descendants of other kinds of creatures leads to this absurdity of delcaring chimps to be human. It will now lead to lawyers arguing in court for their human rights. I suppose they will vote Democratic party line.

Even more ironic .... it will be murder to kill a chimp, but ok to kill a baby just before it's born.

Now, biologists at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, provide new genetic evidence that lineages of chimps (currently Pan troglodytes) and humans (Homo sapiens) diverged so recently that chimps should be reclassed as Homo troglodytes. So, we should ignore scientific, quantifiable fact and repeatable data; so we don't hurt your feelings?

Sorry to be gross, but does this change the legal definition of bestiality?
To: The Old Hoosier
Depends if it's consensual.

Hey, no problem....
But will will they be registered to vote in NYC and Palm Beach, FL?
(Sorry. That was excessive and insulting to the chimps living in NYC and Palm Beach.)
When will they start voting absentee as democrats in NYC and Palm Beach, FL since they're more qualified than the current democrat voters in NYC and Palm Beach?

Hey, I don't care if you do it with a chimp. Makes no difference to me. I don't find 'em all that attractive, though.

But of course, can't hurt all those creationists feelings now can we?
And so what if they become Homo troglodytes, it doens't change anything.
And how many times is this article going to be posted anyway?

Democrats or Clinton's probably funded the study. Now they will be able to put more pressure on our children at school.
What does the future hold for our children ? This is very bad dangerous news. I wish it was a just a sci-fi piece.

Technically, no.
Bestiality is inter-species sexual acts.
Chimpanzees and Bonobos, even were they reclassified, are still separate species from us and from each other.
Of course, this answer means that slepping with a neanderthal is also bestiality. Something to think about, ladies.

I don't really have a problem with this. In fact, look around. There are many humans who would be better classified as H. troglodytes.

Article Now to be Considered Mistitled The real title for the article is "Chimps Belong on Human Branch of Family Tree, Study Says". Nowhere in the article does it make any mention of considering chimps to be human.

In parts of Asia, they eat monkeys as a food source. So, if one ate a chimp, would that be considered cannibalism?
