Thanks for posting this. If the child had missed school to shine Hillary's shoes, she would have been commended.

Ok; I'll bite.
The reply was a personal joke to a FRriend with which I maintain contact.

Your turn now.
Can I inquire as to why you would ask?

The poll results from the TV station site are overwhelmingly against the school.

An eighth-grader missed school to sing in a choir in front of President George W. Bush in Indianapolis. The school decided the absence is unexcused. Did the school make the right decision?

Thanks for posting that e-mail address. I just sent out a politely-worded e-mail requesting an explanation and a reconsideration for the student who missed class. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

Mine as well. I told him that his decision was either from total ignorance (as to the educational benefit) or political partisanship. In either case it wasn't a good career move, especially now that it has made the Drudge Report. By tonight it will be on Fox News and on Monday - ta da - Rush Limbaugh.

I hope that he's close enough to retirement to not have to worry about employment.

GREAT!!

My nastygram was somewhat of a rant, I'm afraid:

Since when is getting the chance to sing in the Indianapolis Children's Choir, for the President of the United States, and participate in the making of American history uneducational?

Are students penalized for visiting any site or person having to do with the American government or American history as well?

You don't teach American History in your public school? Not even current events? You don't KNOW that EVERY American president is making American history the ENTIRE TIME THEY ARE PRESIDENT?

The war on terrorism is American history, whether you wish it to be or not. President Bush is the man who was sitting president the day 3,180 people were murdered in two attacks against this country whether you want to remember that day or not. For this reason, President Bush may be the most influential president in American history, whether you like it or not.

Your telling a public schoolkid that participation in American history is not educational has CERTAINLY been an educational experience for the American people.

Did you do this to students who missed school to see Clinton in person?

Sincerely,

Anything to destroy our culture.
There are so many other fine cultures in the world and unfortunately they are relocating here.

"The solution is to remove your child from the government school."

"Wrong. The solution is to remove government from the schools."

It isn't wrong at all to remove the children from a corrupt system. And it will set the stage for demolition of the dept of education and the privitization of education. It is important to recognize the increments achieved in this individual action will eventually allow for your solution.

The child learned from that experience, that a mob of Bush despising mentally deficient, liberal fanatics of acadamia, will take out their venamous spite on anyone who respects the President, regardless of their age.

This guy could have made an exception. If he did, he'd saved himself a lot of grief. We're talking about the President of the United States.

Of course, their excuse is going to be her parents didn't give 30-days' notice. So what! Make an exception!

This is why people think public school administrators are incapable of exercising good judgment and why parents don't want them having power over their children's lives.
