I note that the poll survey button is not working, and I can't get the 'results' to post either. Any body get any numbers before they shut it down?

That's bogus. Parents are always getting kids out of class for everything--trips of all kind. If schools are given proper advance notice--a necessary courtesy--there is no reason why a student should not be allowed to make up work. Either the township or the state should look into this matter a little more closely...

I have the solution to this problem: Have the President send the school a absense note for her!

The schools are here do. It is one of the things they complain about because of its frequency and the disruption to class that it causes.

Contrast this with a Gore school event in 2000. Gore came to town, the school sent all the kids home. Children of county political dems were brought in to populate a few classrooms. Gore spent about 45 minutes at the school on his way to a fundraiser. The taxpayers picked up the cost of his flight on AF-2, the motorcades, etc.

"I'm not sure what was gained from an educational value," Superintendent Mark Keen told RTV6's Vicki Duncan. Whew this Keen guy must go home every night to a cage at the Indiana NEA headquarters.

We went to Washington DC and Virginia this spring for vacation during spring break and my son (7th grade) earned EXTRA credit for standing up in class and talking about all the historical places he visited...

Good post.
Once again the "educators" reveal their true character. They blithely maintain that children are property of the state.
When parents notify (not request) the school their child will be absent, that's the end of the story. This school's arrogant action should be prompt punishment for the "educators".

Yeah, like I'm sick to death of this RAT school.

The thing I always did was tell the school, "My child will not be there tomorrow". None of their business why. *Bingo* That's the way to do it! It isn't any of there business what is going on.
