Great post. I just heard yesterday that the ship was held up and didn't question it. Just chalked it up SOP when a dignitary arrives. Like when XXX42 got a haircut at LAX on the runway.

Are you positive the ship was "crawling" along at 3 knots?“

I just asked him about this and he said that he really was not sure of the speed, but just guessing. He added that it may have going 5 or six knots.

Most press reports hve it hat the ship was "dead" in the water, but this was in fact, not the case.

This superb piece you wrote is NO vanity, sir. It is a fitting and proper statement of TRIBUTE to our magnificent men and women in the service of our country.
