White House to Sen. Byrd- 'Do It Again, Please' (USS Lincoln Complaining) [Excerpt from The Note]
ABC News ^ | May 8, 2003 | Marc Armbinder

One Democrat moaned yesterday as he watched the cable news programs replay hours of footage of President Bush on the carrier with audio about Democratic complaints.

'Im watching him get high fived and buzz the tower again,' the Democrat said. 'The White House should have thought of this controversy themselves!'

Democratic questions about Bush's jet landing made the front page of USA Today complete with the 'Fly Boy' photo that will have Mike Deaver smiling.

Along these lines, a Senior Administration Official told the ABC Political Unit 'The more time the President talks about defense and security issues, the more he hurts Democrats and reinforces the public's positive perceptions of the Presdient.'

'Do it again, do it again is our message to Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia.'

The Democrats are doing things to make their base happy, but alienating the center of the electorate.

To all lurking DUHers, I'm not posting this picture gratuitously...really, I'm not..(heehee)

I just wanted to mention that when Perky Katie was interviewing this pilot, shown walking with our beloved (and might I add, courageous, manly, hunk of a President), she asked it our W was woozy (or some such BS) after the landing. The pilot, aghast, said NO - He's a stud!!! LOL Yes, that would be my interpretation too.

The Dims couldn't talk about the warm reception that Dubya recieved so they started in on about how the plane got the '3' or '4' wire and now they've switched to questioning the political strategy invovled.

Let em keep grasping for straws!

I saw a great pic of W. in the cockpit of the S3 after, right after landing on the Lincoln. Below his window is "George W. Bush, Commander-in-Chief," and all around are little donkey emblems showing the number of victories against the 'Rats. It's a priceless photo.

Ah... It's a great picture all right, but I think someone did some digital doctoring to the original.

I will never forget when my first grade daughter asked me what Presidential kneepads were.

yes, it was quite a pleasure to explain "what's the big deal with the blue dress mom?"

That's right. Fact is fact, truth is truth and even they can't spin that (at least not for very long before it catches up with them). I hope people have long memories.

What Leno is getting is that pro-Bush, anti-'Rat humor is popular. He and Letterman are cultural weathervanes, and the 'Rats are beside themselves that they've lost control of the culture.

You are exactly right, and it gives me great satisfaction to see Dims the butt of Leno and Letterman jokes. Quite a change.

The only one who is better is the Pelosi!

Wouldn't an evening out on the town with her be fun? ;)

The thought of that reminds me of the worst "date" I've ever had. It was with a school teacher who I had met through an internet ad.

I pretty much circled the block and let her back out. She had been expecting dinner. I had never promised her that, but she was looking forward to getting a large piece of prime rib, a caeser salad, and several magaritas on my VISA card while spouting off to me about her various union issues. She was the shop steward, and -- other than getting dinner on my card -- that was what she had to talk about.

It took me about a heartbeat to see that this was a match that had not been made in heaven.

Man-oh-man, was she pissed. Talk about a wet hen.

Dumping her back off was the best decision I've ever made. I could only have improved on it by never letting her into the car in the first place.

Pelosi would be worse. That's an accomplishment.

I don't want to be within a hundred yards of the Pelosi. She might shed some deadly cat virus.

Good move on your date from liberal hell. My single son does this quite often, and his older brother when single did this. One time the older son walked home from a date. She picked him up. They got about 7 miles out of town. She stopped for a traffic light. He got out and walked home. She sounded like a knock off your short date.

I asked why he didn't call. He said that he knew that I would kid him about it and he didn't want to be kidded that night. Now we laugh about it.

Yes indeed. That in a nutshell is my greatest beef with the dimocraps. They can not talk about the most basic thing without lying.

But that's OK, that's why their power is finally slipping.
