Live thread for President Bush's flight to the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln and his historic address to the nation tonight concerning Iraq.

Tom Clancy!!! That's a scary scenario - the pilot would've been killed and replaced by a terrorist who would try to auger the plane onto the deck in a kamikaze mission.

President Bush would fight with the hijacker, hit the "Eject" and shoot the hijacker out of the plane, then he'd take over the controls and safely land the plane on the carrier.

I predict that he will arrive on board the Lincoln about 3-5 Pacific time. In case he has to ditch for some reason, they will want a few hours of daylight left. I'll bet that he has the highest tech locator vest ever made. Additionally, I'd guess that there are at least two to six helo carrying ships (with helos launched of course) evenly spaced along his flight path.

And don't forget that his staff placed the rocks there in a strategic location so that he could walk across them and have that historic moments. The Clinton presidency was one big Potemkin village for 8 long years.

I'm surprised Mrs. Bush didn't request one of the top three. When I first heard about this I was really shaken, worried for both the President and emphatically, Mrs. Bush. My hubby reminded me of my fear of flying and reasoned that I was over-reacting - again.

Sure is. And since I've personally toured the Lincoln with an 'insider', I'm so glad that he chose that crew to join. They've been at it a LONG time.
