The Dixie Chicks aren't the only Texas natives bashing President George W. Bush.
Sandy Duncan who is performing in South Carolina, told a local paper that she questioned the decision to go to war, and wishes that rather than President Bush, the United States had a leader who was 'globally aware' and 'really smart.'
'I just wish men would quit thinking they could just duke it out with each other,' the native of Henderson, Texas, told the Times and Democrat.
'I don't have all of the facts, and who knows what's really the truth, but I really don't respect [President Bush's] way of dealing with this situation.
It would be great to have someone really, really smart in that office, and someone who is globally aware.'

I am stunned - these people just continue to open their mouths and prove how ignorant they are.

She played Peter Pan a long, long time ago.I always thought that was Mary Martin.

As I recall, she only got that gig because Valerie Harper was holding out for more money and the network replaced her with Sandy. Before then, the show was called "Valerie's Family", because Valerie Harper's character was also named Valerie. After she was dropped, IIRC Valerie Harper sued the network to make them change the name, because she claimed that the show was named after her, not after her character.
Which is the last time you ever saw an actor or actress use his real name on television, as near as I can tell.

Villager: We have found a witch, may we burn her?
Crowd: BURN!! BUUUURN HER!
But how do you *know* she is a witch?
Villager: She looks perky!
Other Villagers: Yeah! She looks perky!!!
To: Stand Watch Listen
She was also a guest start in Scooby Doo cartoons:
Guess she couldn't rate starring in the movie though.

And she's keeping an eye out for another good part to come along. They just don't write shows like "The New Scooby Doo Movies" series these days...

I had forgotten all about Sandy Duncan. She is from a traditionally Democrat part of TX, Henderson, located between Longview and Nacogdoches. But I suspect that even Henderson has been moving Republican in recent years. Maybe she should "come home" and explain herself to her Texas neighbors.

You have to respect the opinion of a person whos body of work includes such notable films as:
THE CAT FROM OUTER SPACE
THE MILLION DOLLAR DUCK
She's a heavyweight. (At least she has more educaton than Susan Saranwrap).

We can just forget what Condeleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld have to say since foreign affairs expert Sandy Duncan was able to string a semi-coherent sentence together. Fortunately for her this will not adversely affect her "career".

'globally aware' and 'really smart.'
Sounds like she has fallen for the old "Conservative Repubs are dumb" routine. I wish I were half as smart as Bush.
We all know all conservative Republicans are stupid and clumsy and all Democrats are corrupt and slimey.

Wow. You know that your career is over when you're begging for guest shots on Scooby-Doo.

I'm getting Valerie Harper confused with Vicki Lawrence, actually I would be surprised if Sankie Duncan guest starred on 'Mamas Family' a classic low brow humour 80's sitcom..
Sort of like 'Married With Children' meets the 'Beverly Hillbillies' crossed with 'Hee-Haw'.
