I hope you won't mind a prayer request for my girlfriend Monica. I've enjoyed FreeRepublic almost from the beginning and joined in 1998. All along FreeRepublic gave us many hours of pleasure and I read many, many FReeper threads to Monica.

When big things happened we were always up on all the nuances and details, thanks to FR.

We were among the crowd for the March for Justice in 1998 and we had a great time meeting so many nice FReepers. We still have the Cspan tape of the event.

She's the nicest person you could ever meet. And we shared a love for watching the political dramas unfold. We were both greatly looking forward to the next election season. I have radios for her in the bedroom, living room, near the washing machine downstairs, in the kitchen, even the bathroom so she wouldn't miss a word from the shows she loves. We complimented each other well, and I've loved being here for her.

Yesterday Monica suffered a stroke and a brain hemmorage and the prognosis is very poor. There is not much we can do but pray for her and it's an amazing thing to realize how much she meant to me. The depth of pain is more than I ever knew, and this is very hard. We've been together for 15 fun years and I always thought we had so much more time. She's only 53.

We never fought, we knew each other so well, and she put up with me. It's a wonderful thing to feel loved, and from her there was no doubt. Somebody loves me, nothing in the world can beat that.

I'm hoping some FReepers will say a prayer and wish her well. She shared my enthusiasm for Free Republic and you guys gave us much to be hopeful for and I know this election season and everything else will not be as much fun without her to share it with.

Gracious, Merciful Father,

We stand together, in agreement, to ask you to heal Monica from this stroke, and to reverse any damage that might have been done.

We ask that you would touch her and Bless her with Divine Health, as only you can. You are the miracle worker Lord.

Please bring comfort to her and her loved ones during this difficult time. Please give them all strength.

It is now that we stand in the gap for Monica with our Faith in your Word and your Promises. Through those times that you have healed us, we KNOW that there is victory through you.

Father, In Jesus name, we ask that you would find favor in this request to heal Monica. We give all thanks, Praise, Honor and Glory to you.

I don't pray much, but you have one from me.

Don't give up hope. I had someone close hurt very recently. The question used to be, would he make it till noon, about three weeks later he has scribbled "when are you going to get me the hell out of here" on a piece of paper.

I don't know how your situation will work out, but I do know that loved ones just being there, and prayers can only help. Mine seem to have been answered recently, though I don't know what would make me deserve that, so I don't think it will hurt here.
