Friends of Israel will be holding "NPR: Tell the Truth" demonstrations of protest outside National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate stations from coast to coast on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, to express outrage over NPR's biased coverage of the Middle East.
Each "NPR: Tell the Truth" demonstration is being organized locally by Jews and Christians who believe that NPR's reporting on the Middle East is so inaccurate and biased that it poses a threat to Israel's security. The idea originated with the Boston Israel Action Committee (BIAC), a group that draws its membership from several Boston-area synagogues.
Demonstrations are being organized in: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Denver, Detroit, Fairfield (CT), Fresno, Houston, Indianapolis, Hartford, Los Angeles, Long Island, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, Newark, New Haven, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland (OR), Rochester (NY), St. Louis, St. Paul, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
We hope that many more communities will organize demonstrations. This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the inaccurate and biased coverage of the Israel on NPR. In the context of demonstrations being planned in more than 30 cities from coast to coast, even small demonstrations held outside NPR stations on May 14 will receive significant coverage from newspapers, radio, and television stations as the local angle on a significant national story.
Information on how to organize a demonstration is posted on www.JAT-action.org or contact the organizers at protest@jat-action.org

Is that directive from NPR national management that Steve Emerson not be allowed on the air still in force?
To: aristeides
I don't think its been changed since 9-11. Some one can correct me if I'm wrong. The anti-America wackos get funded with our taxpayer dollars.

NPR has long been a haven for stealth-communists, leftist fringe-runners and other elitists whose concept of freedom begins with stripping us of our freedoms.

I've always thought of it as National Propaganda Radio. Their reportage on the war has been even more dismal than normal. On the bright side though, it has kept them from pushing their daily dose of homosexual agenda pieces.

They don't need to be pro-isreal. I'd be satisfied with them not being so damned anti-american/pro-arab. It's not going to happen though. Working at NPR as a conservative would be an incredibly hostile environment to have to go to every day.

You aren't kidding. The Somali cab drivers ALL listen to that crap. NPR just transmits the Arab press in English without any independent reporting. Its basically Al-Jazzero with Beethoven.
To: Tank-FL
It is very important, indeed. I hope I can make this one.
