We arrive about an hour before the scheduled start time. |
Still an hour to go, crowd is already assembling. |
Stage area, still an hour before rally start. |
Angelwood and Free the Hostages at DC Chapter table as wind starts to kick up. |
Kristinn and Free the Hostages at DC Chapter table, about an hour before rally start. |
On our way to see the peaceniks, we meet this patriot. She says she's not a freeper. |
We see some peaceniks. These folks appeared to be lost. Their rally was blocks away. |
On our way to the peacenik rally. The closer we get, the more cops we see. Charter buses, too. |
We find the main peacenik rally. As you can see from the traffic sign, the only direction from where these guys are is to the right. |
Sound stage at peacenik rally. A "welfare rights advocate" was speaking as we went by. Note one of DC's finest in the foreground. |
That's it, folks -- the big ANSWER rally in DC. If you read there were 10,000 there, don't believe it. |
Idiots on parade. |
ANSWER bus from Jersey City. Where do they get the money for this? |
They even had "Bus Greeters." |
Peaceniks, buses, and cops. |
Huge crowd to impeach Bush. Plus more cops. More cops than impeachers. |
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Laura Ingram is at the podium. |
Crowd shot. My guess is that our crowd and the peaceniks' crowd were of comparable size. |
You want bombs with that? |
Wipe feet here. |
White flag. |
Noted TV personality Interesting Times (left) approaches Dr. Raoul (in Saddam costume). |
Yours truly beats Saddam with shoe. |
IT beats Saddam with shoe. |

"No child left tortured" |
Rally over, people head home. |

Thanks for the pictures. Wish I could have been there -- was down Connecticut Avenue working :( It looked like a beautiful day to support our wonderful troops.

bump. Hey, did you happen to ask them what they were protesting, seeing as thier guy lost and the war is about over.
To: Nick Danger
Great pictures. It was good talking to you and IT at the rally today. A perfect day - blue sky, warm weather, and enough of a breeze so all the flags were waving and of course lots of good American Patriots.
Based on your photos, there might have been more of us than of them!!!
To: Nick Danger
Great pictures. Maybe someday I can attend a DC rally. I'm in Hawaii so it will have to wait til I can make the to DC.

Beautiful pictures, particularly with hitting the faux Saddam over the head with a shoe! Nick, how did the anti-war protestors like the pro-U.S. group? The left isn't used to getting answered back.

I was glad to be there. The day was beautiful, the people were beautiful, even the band was beautiful :-).

BTW, did anyone find out what all the sirens were about? The sound of police and ambulance sirens kept coming from the general direction of the "other guys'" rally all afternoon.

bump. Hey, did you happen to ask them what they were protesting, seeing as thier guy lost and the war is about over. Hard to say.
Perhaps they're hoping to return the Iraqi children to their jails.

Hey, it was good to see you again.
The American Friends of Saddam might have had a few more attendees, but it was very close. The police presence over there was impressive -- several hundred very business-like cops positioned all around. At the Rally, of course, two or three guys in uniform wandered by every once in a while...
It was a fine day, but I think I'm going to have to invest in a hat. The top of my head has turned a cheerful rosy hue.

great photos of the rally. I love the no child left tortured sign. I LOVE the photo of you and Doctor Raoul, with you beating Doctor Raoul's head with the shoe.
Angelwood, check out the photo of you and me in the wind -- I swear, it's always windy when we freep!
P.S. Your camera has a malfunction which makes me look overweight.

Quick story from yesterday: I had a radio host contact me to see if the Flag Balloon will be in Michigan anytime soon. I went to his web site, and what do I see?
Doctor Raoul holding up a sign that says... If Osama were a piece of ___ - Clinton would have nailed him!
Ok, so I made the sign, but Doctor Raoul started it, and who knows who has spread the sign around the internet. I just thought it was hysterical to see it on the net in such a round about way...

It was a great day! I was there, my husband and brother, too. I have a camera full of pictures, digital, but I don't know how to post them. Far too many anyway. Some of the signs were just too good to leave and forget about. God gave us sunshine and gentle breezes.... It was a great day!
