POW Family Denies Daughter Shot, Stabbed
By ALLISON BARKER .c The Associated Press
PALESTINE, W.Va. (AP) - The father of rescued POW Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch said Thursday that she was in great spirits following her first surgery and denied reports she was shot and stabbed during her captivity in Iraq.
``We have heard and seen reports that she had multiple gunshot wounds and a knife stabbing. The doctor has not seen any of this,'' Gregory Lynch Sr. said.

Denied she was shot and stabbed DURING her captivity, or BEFORE her captivity?

Seems to me also that if she had actually shot Iraqi soldiers, she'd not be alive today. History indicates that soldiers in contact don't take prisoners. Had she shot several Iraqis, no way would they not kill her in the heat of battle. And why leave her as a witness if they did execute several of our people?
There's a lot more to come out on this story.

Perhaps to set the bones, put a pin in a bone, repair an internal organ, etc.

This is from AP, I need more proof.
I think you are right, she said During and he ran with it.

Or it's just a misquote.

During his press conference, Rumsfeld and Myers refused to comment on any of this until the de-briefing.

I just saw a little bit of the interview. Apparently she needed surgery on a nerve in her back as she had no feeling in her feet.

It may be days before all details come out. I wonder who the sources were on the original story (Washington Post?) It seems to me that it took MONTHS to get the POW's stories from the first Gulf War...
To: WhiskeyPapa
I have to agree. I'd much rather hear her story directly from her when the dust settles.
