Iraqi regime reportedly plans attacks with WMD from the air
Kuwait News Agency ^ | KUNA

The Iraqi regime is equipping aircraft with weapons of mass destruction to attack coalition forces that have reached approaches of the embattle Iraqi capital of Baghdad, according to Iraqi opposition sources.

The well-informed sources said the regime prepared several warplanes, including MIGs, Mirages and Sukhois to attack the attacking forces when they reach a certain line close to the heart of Baghdad.

These warplanes are being equipped with chemical and biological weapons to attak the coalition forces in the event they reach some sensitive axes of the city, the sources told KUNA.

They said that Saddam Hussein would order such attack when he feels that his safety is threatened.

The coalition commanders have affirmed that the allied warplanes have supremacy of the skies over Baghdad.

I know... they bought 50 party balloons and pre-loaded them with chem/bio... will fill with helium and release them over our heads from 10 strategic locations in Baghdad... then use pop guns to bust them open when they're over target...

As I understand it, we have had a 24/7 CAP over Iraq for the last 2 weeks- pilots with itchy trigger fingers and nothing to hit - well, at least no enemy to hit.

"Regardless of how they release the gas, they very well could release some"

And it would be all our fault, If the US had just listened to France this would never have happened.

Yeah, right.

Re: Chem/Bio weapons -

As I've posted for weeks now, and I'm not the only one saying this if you listen to the CENTCOM briefings, it is highly likely that we are not going to locate the WMDs (unless they choose to use them) for a couple months. We are going to have to locate and question the scientists and administrators of those programs to find the locations, and then we are likely to have to do some MAJOR excavations into the bunkers of Baghdad and Tikrit to get to the labs.

I'd be slightly worried about the MiGs, if they have some old models... they can take off from highway surfaces easily enough.

...Or smiley face blimps. Goodgawd, has anyone seen Nadler lately?? He has real potential of becoming a WMD. If nadler were to blow, the threat to the environment could be catastrophic.

And where are these warplanes???? Didn't we take them all out?

They will need a huge slingshot to launch them, and they better have a Romulan Cloaking device if they ever do manage to get into the air....

I hope you are right. There is another thread, the one concerning the death of Sadazz from the American Computer Society that confirms what you are saying about Ft Saddam[s] hidden deep under the city.

Just curious, do you think they should invite Blix back, besides for the purpose of rubbing his nose in any wmd's we might find?

I wonder what will happen to the payload when we shoot down such a plane? I suspect the release would be more local, but a contagion would still disperse. If it was weaponized black smallpox, the results would be devastating, no matter how it was delivered.

I don't buy it at all. Once the US is in Baghdad, to use chemical weapons on the city, just doesn't make any sense at all.

It's one thing to devastate your entire army in a futile attempt to stay in power. It's another to Gas your own capital city, and remove any chance you ever had of being viewed favorably in Arab history.

Nothing NO thing can fly in Iraqi territory unless we let it. The AWACS can track and target birds flying.

Don't forget the two ultralights that overflew our ground troops a few days ago, the first time that had happened since the Korean War. They were gone by the time our guys got permission to shoot.

I have a hunch this is where the biochem delivery danger lies.

Saddam is suffering from the same disease that Hitler had. Thinks he cannot be defeated. Demanding divisions already destroyed to attack. He owns the skys! I saw a Foxnews trailer this a.m. that said Baghdad denies that we are close, that we are lying to cover up our defeat! Hoohahahah! Keep on thinking that Saddam. Keep on.

ALL YOUR AIRPORTS ARE BELONG TO US!!

I think they would be more succesful using kites!

"They said that Saddam Hussein would order such attack when he feels that his safety is threatened."

Well, I guess that means they're not really gonna use them or that they don't have them. They would have launched them by now. Aircraft? Uh huh! Sure! We're quaking over here! They either don't have them or no longer have the capability to use them. They may be frantically scrambling to use them, but I'd wager quite a bit that they'll do more harm to a) the Iraqi people (perhaps why they're fleeing), b) themselves, and c) their own homeland before hurting us in any way.

Not to mention they're only "making it worse for themselves!" by telling the world they actually have them. LOL
