The Iraqi regime is equipping aircraft with weapons of mass destruction to attack coalition forces that have reached approaches of the embattle Iraqi capital of Baghdad, according to Iraqi opposition sources.

The well-informed sources said the regime prepared several warplanes, including MIGs, Mirages and Sukhois to attack the attacking forces when they reach a certain line close to the heart of Baghdad.

These warplanes are being equipped with chemical and biological weapons to attak the coalition forces in the event they reach some sensitive axes of the city, the sources told KUNA.

They said that Saddam Hussein would order such attack when he feels that his safety is threatened.

The coalition commanders have affirmed that the allied warplanes have supremacy of the skies over Baghdad.

BWAHAHAHAHA. Nothing NO thing can fly in Iraqi territory unless we let it. The AWACS can track and target birds flying.

They'll be lucky if they manage to get a fighter off the ground. Even if they do I give the pilot the life expectancy measured in minutes if not seconds.

Hmmm. That is an interesting thought, but they have to have somewhere to take off from and it seems that we have a good presence. And while I understand that ultralights can take off in a fairly short distance, a M-16 round in the head of the pilot would seem to be a proper defense.

An interesting though nonetheless.

I don't think they can get a model plane out of a hanger without it being shot to bits before it reaches what's left of the tarmac.

Syria?

Talk about a suicide mission. The pilot may as well put a gun to his head and pull the trigger.

Only those we could see. Other may exist who knows where - most mIGs are unimproved field capable meaning they could use a highway to take off if necessary - especially if they didn't think they would be landing again.
:)
We need to have a constant CAP on Baghdad - none of this Ready-5 stuff either. They could be off the ground on on our guys in minutes.
