This just seems odd. Consider, now every martyer has it both ways. One way they are heros of the religion. The other way they are hapless victims gunned down by the evil west who could not save them.

What he could not tell the solders quietly, help me? He was not nervious when at the car?

Something stinks with this story.

I'm referring to Fox being the first to claim chemicals found on two occasions, and having to back away from it,

Sorry, they are not the only ones. All these stories get one release from the field and then are squashed, but we are allowed to see the thousands of gas masks lying around all over Iraq. If the reporting from Gulf War I can be used as an example, I would say that we have found chemical weapons and the story is being squashed for some reason. Just my opinion for what it is worth. I guess we will find out if I am right at the end of the war.

I agree, Lady Heron. I think we already HAVE found chemicals.

I imagine there are ongoing communications with the remnants of the regime and perhaps the chemical card is one we're using to exert leverage.

After all, if Baghdad falls from within, it would be a rare treat to see the shock and awe this would have on the French and other naysayers.

I have absolutely no doubt the Iraqis have WMD's. I'm little doubt we already have proof.

I *do* tend to be skeptical of any "breaking news" initially at first...Even from embeds.

It was pretty obvious the women in the van weren't volunteers.

One of my sons and I were discussing this last night. We think they might have been family of soldiers who surrendered.

I've spent every day since the 4th of January at FR. Really. Apparently a mistake.

Only if you can not take the heat. Everybody at some point says something that gets flamed.

I would love to see the French shocked and awed also, but with their arrogance I doubt that there is any thing that we could show them that would make them back down in public. For them this was about giving the world an alternate leadership other than America.

I saw a Fox segment this morning, an interview with somebody or other who said that a device was being brought in. He described it as a popup device with design elements akin to an aircraft carriers fighter stopping technology.

At all checkpoints the troops would standoff and the vehicle, large or small, fast or slow, would automatically be stopped.

Regarding Fox's rush to claim big stories - you are exactly right. I watched live the progression of the "chemical factory" story that grew like Pinnochio's nose over the course of four hours.

I like their approach to the news, but I am very wary whenever they claim a breaking story - they have got to get better in sourcing and confirming their news, then being a bit cautious in how they present it.

One is still reminded about how Rita Cosby completely screwed up the announcement of the Supreme court decision on Bush-Gore.

No need to worry, even if he does. It will be a three line story, but it will take fifteen minutes to report once they sanitize it with multiple instances of each of "allegedly", "unconfirmed", "according to Pentagon sources", "speculation", etc.

If this story is true, someone please let Katie Couric know. She all but accused American troops of murder on the "Today" show this morning.

Maybe when you learn how to read U.S. dates you can learn about the Authority Fallacy.

It was pretty obvious the women in the van weren't volunteers. I wonder if they even knew, or if only the driver did.

It would make most sense that only the driver knew that they would run the checkpoint. Perhaps he was even lied to that the soldiers wouldn't fire because of the women and children on board (but that getting innocents shot was the plan all along).

I'll admit to gloating over the prospects of sleazy little street junkie self promoting cowardly braggarts like "Geraldo" being escorted to the border.

Doesn't make me a bad guy, does it?

They know that by the time we discover this fact the psychological damage will be done.

If the media weren't infested with anti-American idiots they would has assumed it until proven otherwise. It made absolute sense that he would do this.

The date of his sign-up is in the Year-Month-Day format, so 1-4 is actually January 4th, not April 1st.

Wonder what Katie couric is Thinking

I've taking to calling her "Karbala Katie" for her anti-US actions. Hope others join me.
