Everyone? Can you stop it? Please?

You want EVERYONE on Free Republic to drop a running joke simply because it annoys you?

Are you series?

Do you have any idea how self-absorbed that makes you look?

Oh, hell, the NUMBERS are in English... a lot of nations use "English" numbers... Saying that the writing on that piece is 'English' is a joke...

Fox News now reporting it's an Iraqi missile, but NOT a Scud.

There was another pic that had a piece of a missile with English writing on it. Not just numbers.

A good point made by reporter on CNN. The bad guys now have good coordinates for Kuwait City.

What does that mean? Couldn't they just look at a map?

Otherwise, the could send somebody to buy a GPS at WalMart and then go stand in the middle of the city and take readings.

In addition, if the guidance package on your missle is crap, the coordinates don't mean diddly.

Uh, yeah. Any pre-teen with a GPS (or Audiovox phone) could get the coordinates.

Our numerals are called arabic numerals, but the numbers actually in use by Arabic speakers today are not the same thing. They look quite different.

That's not saying that an Arabic missile wouldn't use western numbers.

I've never seen anyone claim anywhere that Iraq has Sunburns.

Here's another "source" claiming Iraq has Sunburns:

Iraq's 1st Response Includes UN Proscribed Weapons, published 1 week ago today. (snip)In addition to the proscribed scud missiles, Iraq also responded to U.S. and allied Tomahawk cruise missile attacks with Chinese "Sunburn" anti-ship weapons, also proscribed under the cease-fire agreement. In the first day of hostilities, it has been reported by military sources that the Iraq has launched eight scud missiles and at least two of the Chinese "Sunburn" anti-ship weapons.

And here's some Congressional testimony on the market in Russia and how loose it is.(Iraq being one of their customers, we know)

Testimony on Russian Arms Sales...

(snip)China, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, and Syria all buy Western technology. China buys from Russia, and North Korea from China. Iran, Iraq, Libya, and Syria all buy from Russia, China, and North Korea.

This isn't a case of my WANTING to believe it so therefore it must be true. It's a case of logic. Who would buy the idea that if Iraq buys from Russia (or China, or anyone), that they would stop short of buying what has been labeled "the most lethal anti-ship missile" created?

Perhaps the Iraqi's have missiles with both english and arabic writing on it? Perhaps it was produced outside of Iraq?

UN Inspectors notes perhaps.

Looks like you were right, FNC just announced during news update that they believe it was a Chinese Silkworm missile.

Within less than an hour of the missile hitting Kuwait City, we were seeing parts of a missile with Arabic markings.

We have heard of two "missile" attacks on civilians in Baghdad in the last two days. We are still awaiting a piece of a missile with any kind of markings.

The important point here is, why haven't any of the media mentioned this?

Fox reporting it was a silkworm that landed in the water???????? Silkworms are pretty low tech, they wanna hit the first big thing they see. I suppose the ocean might qualify but that would be a real stretch. :-}
