12:06 AM | NYT will report captives were executed
CNN - aaron brown is saying the NYT tomorrow will have a report that some of the POWs were summarily executed, probably publicly.
"When this word gets out, it's hard to control the troops." Gen. Wesley Clark.
Brown said the story will change things. "People will be outraged."

I think some people misinterpreted some of your comments.
I know what you are saying - the Iraqis may have executed the circumcized soldiers, thinking that they were Jews, and therefore more "deserving" of a bullet to the head.
Hopefully, all those who carried out these deeds will be dead in a matter of days.

Ironically, the NYT probably thinks this will cause support for the war to drop. As usual, they don't have a clue.

I agree with your assessment of their intentions, but I also think a number of the anti-war folks will use this incident to echo the sentiments of that father in Baltimore who publicly blamed W for his son's death.

Many here on FR think that the American people should not be exposed to these atrocities because it is "Iraqi propaganda" and designed to demoralize our troops.
The ones who feel this way cannot be convinced by logic-- I remain convinced that the opposite effect will happen and America will become more outraged by this sub-human behavior.
But can anyone with a brain be surprised?
We knew that this regime was PURE EVIL.
We justified a pre-emptive war based on that ver assumption.
Every atrocity proves us right.

Fwiw, I quite liked that. I changed one word, and then I sent it out to a bunch of my friends. Great post, that.

I pray for the two women who are still missing from the toops that were captured. I shudder at their fate. Me too.

A distinction must be made between Iraqis and the Baathist Party thugs that terrorize the majority of the Iraqi population and commit war crimes against our troops.
The Iraqi people should be considered our future allies as is the case with the East Europeans who have cast off the yoke of Communist oppression.
The Baathist Party thugs, however, should be hunted down and exterminated. If they are strung up from lamp-posts as was Mussolini, we should look the other way and claim we saw nothing.

" I doubt this will be on the front page, above the fold where it should be. Those communists will probably bury the story next to the classified ads."
Tonight, while surfing,I saw a NYT reporter, last name Broder(probably related to David Broder)on with Aaron Brown. They were having a smirkfest about his big scoop tomorrow in the NYT.His story is apparently that the war planners have totally misread this war, planned wrong, blah, blah. This guy seemed so pleased with himself-he is, after all,so much smarter than CentCom. Knowing the MO of the NYT,one would assume a bad story about the military will take precedence over a story about Iraqi war crimes.

Couldn't agree more but apparently even this will not stop the anti war crowd. Another thread on FR about protests planned for Manhattan tomorrow and saw on news protest in
Australia.

Man, the NY Times site right now is pure gloom and doom. Thank god the reasonable have other media outlets to look to.

The rabid "organizers" will be there, but they should find smaller and smaller crowds, made up of an even more fringe element. I don't see any momentum for the protests, though yes there are alot of stupid people out there still.
