Perhaps we should keep him alive long enough to find out if the imams in the chaplain corps are teaching our own soldiers to attack the infidels.

I'm really upset too. I wonder if the military has taken anytime to try to find whacko terrorists from within? Wonder if they'd have the guts to expell black muslims ... I expect not.

You're sadly probably correct.
They could take a few cues from our Philipine expeditions 100 years ago about how to deal with errant Muslims.

If we find out this dude was mouthing off for several days about Islam, already causing concern, it was highly stupidly PC of the men in charge to let him hang around with access to weaponry.

Bump
And he will be very likely shot by firing squad in Kuwait or Iraq.
Do it at dawn.

Just hear Aaron Brwon spin this incident as an 'embarrassment for the military'....no mention of Muslim connection....acted as if this was a soldier who cracked up under pressure!
He also said that embedded reporters made it impossible for the military to keep the story under raps!
What an outrage!

but from within the troopsAre you old enough to remember Viet Nam. There was a common practice there called fragging. It referred to throwing a fragmentation grenade at one's superior officer. I guess that war does funny things to people's heads.

It has been a while since I even looked at the CMJ, but firing squad was the prescribed form of capital punishment. I'll do a little seach and see if things have changed.

I was flipping channels, MSNBC had a reporter from Time who is with the soldiers. He said,"I am allowed to say he has an Arabic name. Said the soldier had been written up lately and the commander had already decided to leave him in the stay behind group when they went ahead. Reporter also said our soldiers are Magnificent! Now get the Muslim soldiers out of there so the troops can do their jobs without fear of their own.

This could get real ugly - the media is going to have a field day with this. The spin will be this "unpopular" war is even causing our soldiers to go nuts, a la Vietnam.

Do we have Muslim psychos on President Bush's Secret Service security detail?
This nation's inability or unwillingness to face up to the fact that Islam is at war with this nation and the civilized world is costing us lives.
This is unacceptable.
We cannot defeat the menace unless we acknowledge what the menace is and deal with it.
Political Correctness kills.

Was he written up for Islamic-type acting up? If so, why punish him then leave him around unattended with access to weapons? I'm sure it was because the higher-ups wouldn't want to look un-PC and rile up the Muslims.
To: Mike4Freedom
My husband served in VietNam. I would not call fragging a "common practice" there. It happened, but it was not all that common, IMHO.

Wonder if they'd have the guts to expell black muslims ... I expect not.Expelling Muslims from our Muslim host countries could get a little dicey.
If this happens again, we've got a crisis on our hands.
