'US SOLDIER ATTACKS TROOPS' [unsanitized discussion of MUSLIM treason suspect]

'US SOLDIER ATTACKS TROOPS'

An American Muslim soldier is understood to have carried out a grenade attack on a US military camp which injured 16 soldiers.

A second man, who is not a soldier, is thought to be held.

Three grenades were rolled into three tents housing military leaders of the 101st Airborne Division Saturday night at Camp Pennsylvania, home of the, near the Iraqi border, said Sky correspondent Stuart Ramsay, who is in the base.

The grenade that was rolled into the first tent, where the commanding officer sleeps, did not go off.

But two other grenades used to attack tents where the unit's majors and captains sleep did explode.

'Acting weird'

Ramsay watched as the suspects were held.

"Two men are being held, one of which is a Muslim soldier who is an engineer," Ramsay said.

"It appears he was hiding in a barrack where the attacks happened. A second man, who we believe is not an American soldier, is being held by the military.

"As the man who carried out the attack moved away there was some shooting. He was shot in the leg. He was held on the ground less than 100 yards from where the attack happened."

He said fears about the Muslim soldier's behaviour had been raised in recent days by colleagues.

Interrogation

"In recent days they were concerned about his behaviour and were not going to send him up to the front when the soldiers were going to be deployed."

It is not clear whether the soldier, who Ramsay said would have been in the Gulf for some weeks, had planned the attack before being deployed.

"To be honest we just do not know," Ramsay said.

"Talking to other soldiers, it could be that he was disgruntled. They said he had been acting 'weird' for days."

Eleven soldiers who were seriously hurt were flown out of the camp by helicopter.

A person's first reaction is that the perp is probably muslim and black.

I didn't say he was black but the first thing I said when I heard about the attackwas: it was a soldier and he was a Muslim. My husband argued with me, he thought it was an Arab who had somehow gotten into the camp.

"Do we do anything for treason any longer?"

Not that I have ever seen any evidence of. If we did, we wouldn't have some of the seditious scum sitting in congress that we do.

"So why shouldn't all muslims by DEFINITION be barred from US military service ???"

It makes perfect sense to me, but then it doesn't seem that making sense is fashionable these days.

I've always wondered why Ted Kennedy is still hanging around.

Internment is unconstituional. Refer all muslims to security details inside the cells at Leavenworth.

Yes, it is as if in one day America has suddenly taken all of Israel's burden. "OH, so THIS is what it's like to be judged worthy of pogrom... OH, the FRENCH really ARE prejudiced swine, OH, Germans and Russians are the same way...

I have only seen one movie recently, Fiddler on the Roof. Because I can only relate to about one line, "God, can't you choose somebody else some time?"

It is despicable what the nations of the world (however "united" they were at different points in history) have done to Israel, and it is sort of encapsulated in how they are treating America with regards to this war right now.

We are punished for being successful, the rest of the world is a bunch of jealous thugs.

Maybe I remember wrong, but didn't that black muslim sniper fellow have something similar in his military record?

Just adding Yahoo's version to the thread: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=540&e=1&u=/ap/20030323/ap_on_re_mi_ea/war_kuwait_attack They seem to have twisted or did their own interpretation on the report. Yahoo s*cks.

>>Attack was "most likely was resentment,"

>>The suspect, whose name was not released, has not been charged, Blumenfeld said

>>two Middle Eastern men were detained. He said they had been hired as contractors working for the Army at that camp

It is NOT a possibility because the troops know him and REPORTED odd behavior prior to the attack. If he dressed up and entered...they would NOT have known him.

Muslims are death to America!!!

Some are, some aren't. What about all the Muslim soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces? Please don't tell me that they are death to Israel.

Of course, there is a certain kind of all too common mosque that has teachings inimical to US military service, and we want to be especially careful about military members, especially chaplains, not being influenced by them.

Personally, I would have no problem with moderators striking posts that lump all Muslims together in a unnuanced verbal attack. Politically, such opinions can have no effect except to discredit more politically realistic conservatism. Not to mention that there really are patriotic Muslims--not millions, perhaps, but some--who don't deserve this.

"None of them, though, said he was a Muslim."

They'd rather demonize out troops, just like they did with John Mohammed, reporting him as an ex-soldier but not as a Muslim. Shameful and disgusting. They will get their comeuppance eventually though.

I don't care if he's black. I do care very much that he is Muslim. Now I learn from Fox that we have Imams preaching to our Muslim troops. Get them out of Iraq now. If a Muslim FBI agent won't even tape another Muslim, what are the muslim soldiers going to do when faced with Bagdad?
