(CBS) Ten U.S. soldiers were injured, six or seven of them seriously, in a grenade and small arms attack at Camp Pennsylvania in northern Kuwait, reports CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann, who is traveling with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.
Strassmann said the grenades were rolled into two commanders' tents at the camp. When officers ran from the tents, they were hit by small arms fire.
"From our reports it appears that a terrorist penetrated Camp Pennsylvania, one or more terrorists threw two hand grenades into a tent," said George Heath, spokesman at Fort Campbell, home base of the 101st.
Strassman said three suspects were being held for questioning, two Kuwaitis who served a translators and an American soldier described as a black Muslim.
The injured soldiers were rushed to a field hospital but military officials had no word on their conditions, Lt. Cmdr. Charles Owens said from Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar.
The military did not identify the unit of the 101st that was in the camp but said it had been in Kuwait for about one week. Most of the division has entered southern Iraq.
Separately, Strassmann reported, an Iraqi rocket fired at U.S. forces in Kuwait was destroyed by Patriot missiles launched from nearby Camp New Jersey.
The terror and missile attack came as the U.S. assault on Iraq gained steam. American and British forces besieged the southern city of Basra and pounded Baghdad with impunity. But tough fighting loomed for coalition troops as they pressed deeper into Iraq.

Do I draw a moral equivalence between muslim terrorists and terrorists like Tim McVeigh?
Absolutely.
Am I blind to the fact that muslim terrorists appear to make up a much greater percentage of the total muslim population than terrorists like McVeigh are a percentage of the white Christian population? Not at all.
But even though I comprehend there is a serious problem with the muslim extremism in the world, I do not at all buy into the idea that even one in 10 muslims in the world are fanatics who want to harm you and me.

Good point, you don't. This guy has to fry, don't get me wrong, however, you can't honestly think that every muslim in the world wants every American to die.

But the majority of muslims, by a large margin, are just regular people
I can almost hear their voices, crying in the wilderness.
That is nonsense, the Muslims in this Country have been silent concerning the issue of Terroism inflicted upon innocent Americans.

But one religion incites people to fly planes, pull triggers and throw hand grenades and tells them they will be rewarded in heaven for doing it. I don't know what is so hard to understand about this.

If I have time, I can look into the archives of Gallup and find the results.
When you do, then you will be able to convince me. Not before.

Why can't you let the man alone in his grief? Because HE chose to vent his grief on national television, THAT'S WHY! If I lose my loved one over there, God forbid, I will NOT go on TV and blame my president. The father is grieving for his son. The father is also an mind-numbed idiot.
I think there are plenty of other mind-numbed idiots in this country we can criticize --- IMO we should leave this guy alone.

I think that is a good strategy.

I must point out that Christ told his disciples to preach, but if the people would not listen then leave that place ; Mohammmed apparently told his followers to preach and if the people will not listen they are to be killed.
Big difference.
So McVeigh and other terrorists who professed to be Christian were acting AGAINST the tenets of their faith, whilst John Taliban and the Washington sniper were in ACCORD with theirs.
The fact that most Muslims do not do likewise may mean they realize just how wrong it is to murder peaceful people simply for worshipping a different God. The fact that leaving the Muslim religion calls for an automatic death sentence should be clear evidence of its inherent wrongness.

Muslims have no business in American society, as they follow a cult, that expouses murder, or slavery of all who are not Muslim. The term "American Muslim", is an oxymorn
Are you looking for a fight?

Hopefully he'll be dealt with quickly. Just send him back here to Kentucky and release him on a busy street in a small town. No waiting.... some of these good ole boys here would take care of that.

Now it's being suggested that this guy simply lost his mind. Hmmm. I wonder how long he's been there? How has he been acting lately? If it turns out that he's only been there for two or three months (in a non-combat role, I might stress), well then, there goes that argument. It promises to be interesting.

I agree with you, but I must mention one Lee Harvey Oswald who was a member of the USMC stationed in Japan at the height of the cold war, working on some kind of U2 related mission whose fellow soldiers used to make fun of him for exposing communist ideas, and reading communist writings.
Let me be clear, I agree with you, and I dont think Oswald should have been allowed to serve either. Of course we are a free society, but the military is different. The fact is it has been turned into a culturally relevant social experiment during the Clinton years. Bring back a man like Patton who slapped the st out of a deserter during WWII.
Allowing a follower of Calypso Louie to serve is pure idiocy. My question is what would Rummy say?

The majority of mosques in America are underwritten by Saudi Arabia and their orientation is Wahabbi. That is a matter of record
It is? Then you should have no problem finding proof of this assertion.

I've heard Rush call Louie "Calypso," what is Calypso? Farrakhan played in a calypso band before he found Allah and became a follower of Elijah Muhammed. Some suspect he was involved in Malcolm X's murder.
Now, of course, Farrakhan is a multimillionaire, and preaches anti-semitic, anti-Catholic, anti-white hatred.
He's the last American "minister" to have had a face-to-face meeting with Saddam Hussein. What does that tell you?
