Now it's being suggested that this guy simply lost his mind. Hmmm. I wonder how long he's been there? How has he been acting lately? If it turns out that he's only been there for two or three months (in a non-combat role, I might stress), well then, there goes that argument. It promises to be interesting.

Ah yes, the insanity defense. I thought of it as soon as I read the article.
Prediction: This guy will have a very expensive "pro bono" lawyer come out of the woodwork, just like Johnny Taliban did. And we'll again have no idea where the money came from to pay for his defense.

My Brother flew something like twenty seven missions without a break over Italy, and Africa during WWII in a bomber that flew so low he could see the people on the ground he was bombing. After he returned they sent him to San Diego for six weeks because he had what they called battle fatigue, but after that he was fine.
BTW I cant remember what kind of bomber he flew. If any Army Air Corp buffs know what kind of plane that was, I would be grateful if you could tell me.
