Remember the scene in "Apocalypse Now" where the Air Cav attacks the Vietcong village, and "Ride of the Valkyries" is blaring from a speaker on the lead copter? I was wondering what songs would be apropos for this war? Any good ideas? I thought a good one would be "The End" by The Doors.

Mozart's Requiem: "Confutatis Maledictis" on a loop.I like the way you think . . . I think the "Dies Irae" added to that loop would be a nice touch!

Stranglehold - Ted Nugent Darn, you beat me to it.
Another fine Nugent selection would be
Free for All
Never before have I turned on you
You look too good to me
Your beady eyes, they could cut me in two
And i just can't let you be
Well, it's a free for all, and I heard it said
You can bet your life
Stakes are high and so am I
It's in the air tonight
See you there with your cheshire grin
I got my eyes on you
Shake yout tail feather in my face and there's no tell in what I'll do
Well looky here, you sweet young thing: the magic's in my hands
When in doubt, I'll whip it out. I got me in a rock'n'roll band
It's a free for all
Here we go ! Look out below ! I'm on the prowl tonight
When it's said and done, I'll have my fun. I can chew anything I bite
Come on, come all, to a midnight ball. The invitation's there
Come alone and I'll drive it home. I'll help you, I do declare
It's a free for all
Never before have I turned on you
Well you look too good to me
Your beady eyes, they could cut me in two
And i just can't let you be
Well, it's a free for all, and I heard it said
You can bet your life
Stakes are high and so am I
It's in the air tonight
It's a free for all

Of course, a little Slim Whitman yodeling set on high fidelity would probably burst the Iraqis heads open like ripe melons

Lyrics
Ooh, let's go
Steve walks warily down the street
With the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this
Are you hangin' on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat - yeah
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, eh
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own
Are you happy ? Are you satisfied ?
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Look out
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, eh
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Hey
Oh take it
Bites the dust - bite the dust hey
Hey
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust, ow
Another one bites the dust, hey hey
Another one bites the dust, heeey
Ooh show down
There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down, yeah
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating to the sound of the beat
Oh yeah
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, yeah
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Shoot out
Hey, alright

One Little Victory
BY: Rush
A certain measure of innocence
Willing to appear naive
A certain degree of imagination
A measure of make-believe
A certain degree of surrender
To the forces of light and heat
A shot of satisfaction
In a willingness to risk defeat
Celebrate the moment
As it turns into one more
Another chance at victory
Another chance to score
The measure of the moment
In a difference of degree
Just one little victory
A spirit breaking free
One little victory
The greatest act can be
One little victory
A certain measure of righteousness
A certain amount of force
A certain degree of determination
Daring on a different course
A certain amount of resistance
To the forces of the light and love
A certain measure of tolerance
A willingness to rise above

Hey CatoRenasci, I like Rule Britannia! It's the least we can do after they played the Star Spangled Banner at Buckingham Palace on September 11...

Thats right, the stars and stripes forever. Sousa
But goin in, getting there, Ray Charles, America the Beatiful, then right before turning on the marches or metal or fight songs, play The Star Spangled Banner sung by Smokey Robinson ala the 1980 World Series Opener....

Here's a website you might want to check out. Some of it may raise the hair on the back of you neck though. Brings back a lot of memories.

Damage Incorporated (Metallica)
Dealing out the agony within
Charging hard and no one's gonna give in
Living on your knees, conformity
Or dying on your feet for honesty
Inbred, our bodies work as one
Bloody, but never cry submission
Following our instinct not a trend
Go against the grain until the end
Blood will follow blood
Dying time is here
Damage Incorporated
Slamming through, don't f--k with razorback
Stepping out? You'll feel our hell on your back
Blood follows blood and we make sure
Life ain't for you and we're the cure
Honesty is my only excuse
Try to rob us of it, but it's no use
Steamroller action crushing all
Victim is your name and you shall fall
Blood will follow blood
Dying time is here
Damage Incorporated
We chew and spit you out
We laugh, you scream and shout
All flee, with fear you run
You'll know just where we come from
Damage Incorporated
Damage jackals ripping right through you
Sight and smell of this, it gets me goin'
Know just how to get just what we want
Tear it from your soul in nightly hunt
F--k it all and f--king no regrets
Never happy ending on these dark sets
All's fair for Damage Inc. you see
Step a little closer if you please
Blood will follow blood
Dying time is here
Damage Incorporated
