The other night, at their opening for their tour in London, they indicated on stage that they were sad to know/hear that our President was from Texas. Again, it is sad to see and hear yet another "celebrity" announcing that they are ashamed of their President of their Unites States. I just wish we would get over and get back so that these "celebrities" would quit using all of these Grammy, Emmy, own concert "stages" to provide their political saitre.

I know a woman who went to high school 30 years ago with one of the real Dixie Chicks. These three latecomers are NOT the "original" crew. Other than the name there is absolutely nothing in common with the prior incarnation---so I understandYou understand incorrectly. Marty and Emily were the original Dixie Chicks, they've shared the stage with a total of 3 different lead singers, but the Dixie Chicks (originally Dixie Chickens) have always revolved around the 2 of them.
Natalie Mains is a stupid fat child and she should be told so...and I won't pay to see them in concert this year, as I'd planned to, but I won't forever write them off.

I have 5 Dixie Chicks songs on my computer- all of them downloaded illegally from the web. I will play them often, laughing gleefully every time knowing I have stolen some music from them. :-D

Do they think it is the unwashed peace protestniks who provide their record sales? Just what I thought! The peacenik rock crowd turns their noses up at country music. OTOH, the people who BUY the Dixie Chicks' cd's are the people out there in the "red" states that voted for BUSH. For a country artist to trash America and Bush, and in front of FOREIGNERS on a foreign shore is RIDICULOUS! ....Wouldn't that be like a gangsta rapper announcing he's against drugs and respects women and opposes crime and racism?

The Country Music market is not for cowards, communists, or other people ashamed of success. Good Point. They better drum up further crossover sales in thee in the pop/rock genre. Their political stance is not particularly popular from their fan base...country music fans.

Contact Lipton Tea and demand that they disown themselves from these traitors!

What I find fascinating is the remarkable hubris of this child.
I mean, really, their core demographic includes men and women who likely will die so her sorry fat ass doesn't get turned into ashes by Jihadis with WMD.
Anyhow, people need to turn away from these preening tramps and listen to some real country. Laura Cantrell, though kinda lefty, has ten times more soul than all three of those bobble head dolls put together.

Lipton Tea is sponsoring the Dixie Chicks world tour. This was announced Feb 20, 2003 and is just now being publicized in media. Here's is where you can contact Lipton and complain. I am going to advise them that I will buy their competitor's product until they take their name off of the sponsorship of Americans going abroad to trash our president.

From the Lipton Tea Website:
As the tours name implies, Lipton has signed on as title sponsor. Look for the Dixie Chicks to
star in a Lipton Iced Tea television commercial spot starting in mid-May and to be featured in
store displays promoting Lipton Teas national contest wherein consumers check inside their
package of Lipton Tea for chance to win a VIP event with the Chicks as well as Chicks CDs,
tour jackets and t-shirts. In addition, Lipton Iced Tea and Lipton Tea products from Unilever will
be sampled at all the U.S. Dixie Chicks dates. The Dixie Chicks partnership was brokered on
behalf of Lipton by Aaron Walton Entertainment.
"Much like the Dixie Chicks are redefining the traditional conventions of country music, we're
going to redefine tea and serve it up in a refreshing new way that's full of energy," said Virginia
Blake West, marketing director, Pepsi-Lipton Tea Partnership. "We couldn't have found a more
exciting association for our brand than with the Dixie Chicks."

Anyone know what political leanings ZZTop has? Not totally sure, but they personally provided Rush with customized bumper music, and I believe Billy Gibbons has called the Rush show before.

Anyone know what political leanings ZZTop has? Nobody with beards like that could possibly be anything but staunch, rock-ribbed conservatives.
To: hotpotato
I, too, am ashamed that they are from Texas. Under the "Goodbye, Earl" lyrics the Chicks wrote thusly:
"The Dixie Chicks do not
advocate premeditated murder,
but love getting even."
So do we, Chicks. So do we.
Love your music and I'll keep what I have (since I paid for it, it's mine!).
But any new CDs or concert tickets don't interest me. The first chance I get to meet you at an airport with a sign in my hand that tells you just what I think of your stupid celebrity opinions, I'm there. If America falls, she will fall from within.
DIVIDED WE FALL.
