Lipton Tea is sponsoring the Dixie Chicks world tour. This was announced Feb 20, 2003 and is just now being publicized in media. Here's is where you can contact Lipton and complain. I am going to advise them that I will buy their competitor's product until they take their name off of the sponsorship of Americans going abroad to trash our president.

Here's my e-mail to Lipton and Pepsi

This letter is being written in response to some
statements made by your "world wide ambassadors" from
the Country Music World, the Dixie Chicks while they
were performing at a Lipton Tea sponsored concert in
London England. They were quoted as follows:

Just so you know," says singer Natalie Maines, "we're
ashamed the president of the United States is from
Texas."

While I have never been a fan of the Dixie Chicks, I
have always been a big fan of Lipton soups and Lipton
teas. Indeed, I have been drinking Lipton tea almost
every day fro decades and I cannot fathom not drinking
it anymore.

Nevertheless, I am torn between my love of Lipton Tea
and my love of country. In these perilous times, I
cannot sit idly by while your company sponsors a group
of seditious ingrates who think they can impress their
fans by fanning the flames of anti-americanism at a
time when we as Americans must pull together for our
very survival.

Hence it is with sincere regret that I must state that
unless and until Lipton disassociates itself from the
Dixie Chicks and apologizes to its customer base for
the stupid statements of your world representatives,
or unless and until the Dixie Chicks issue a public
apology and a public renoucement of the statements of
Natalie Maines, I will no longer purchase any products
from Lipton and I will attempt as best as I can to
make sure that I do not purchase any products from its
parent company Unilever.

It is a shame that such a good product as Lipton Tea
can be so shamelessly spoiled by your sponsored
artists, but as long as you are sponsoring their tour,
they are your world-wide ambassadors.

Next time you decide to sponsor some entertainers,
make sure that they are not going to destroy your
company image by shooting off their ignorant
anti-american mouths.

Sincerely,

P_Marlowe (alias)

Former Lipton Tea Lover
