Operation Infinite FReep in FResno, California (3/7/03)

At this week's Friday night FReep of Fresno's peaceniks, twenty-two FReepers and patriots held up signs asking those driving by to show their support for the troops and President Bush. Once again they didn't disappoint us. The response we got (on behalf of the troops and their commander-in-chief) was overwhelming at times!

We had two bullhorns in action tonight and we hollered such things as "Hey hey, ho ho, Saddam Hussein has got to go", "United we stand, divided we fall," and "Blessed be the peacemakers, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marines." We got the last one from the Colorado FReepers. I hope you guys don't mine us using your cheer!

We listened to patriotic tunes and just generally had a great time. FReepers who were able to attend tonight's FReep were:

We had three young men join us for the first time (carrying some very interesting signs - see below) and three young people from the Navy Recruiting Station.

Thanks to all who were able to attend tonight! To those who weren't able to make it, we sure missed you and hope to see you again soon.

So disappointed we couldn't make it. Chads didn't get home until almost 7. If I had known how to reach you , I would have asked you to pick me up! I was all ready to go!
Are they tearing up the street and parking lot or what? Glad to see so many there! I heard the head of Peace Fresno on a radio show today bragging about how many more protesters they have now, and saying how Fresno supports them!!!! What a liar! I wanted to be there so bad to give him my personal razzberries! :-)

mtngrl ~ GOD bless you all! I miss you all in Fresno SO much! I tear up looking at you all and missing our FReeping. This is SO much more important than the Condit crap; I gotta get away from work and get to Fresno. I'm going to try to get on line more than once a month too.

Hey gang,
The group in SC came up with a great idea. They are having motorists sign a banner that will be mailed to the troops. We could get a poster board for passing motorist to sign and mail it to a different military group each week. It would bring in the crowd and we might get a few recruits in the process. We could set up a table with the poster and colored pens to sign with. If this goes over the way I think it will, they will be 4 deep waiting their turn.
I have several blank poster boards that I would be willing to donate. We will need to moniter the signing to make sure that the peaceniks don't try something.
