"actually O"Reilly mentioned it in a way as to make you think this was a secret he was slipping out....."
I thought so. I've been on a rant the last few days about all the unsourced media speculation going around.
All O'Reilly had to say was, "Mr/Ms/Mrs Fienheinder speaking for the White House Press Office has request air time from the major television networks to present a topic of national importance."
O'Reilly doesn't know beans and is unbale to prove it.

Supporters of President Bush and a possible war with Iraq wave to cars honking their suport outside the office of Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Wednesday, March 5, 2003.
To: The Wizard
Tthis is a feint. It will be just like Marlin Fitzwater did in '91.A brief anouncement at the podium by Ari and then a prime time address by Bush. There will be no heads up.
To: Edmund Burke
CNN has turned it down?
Folks, this does not sound like a major speech then.......

"we are ready to go. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have taken the military which was supposed to go to Turkey. " What about the twenty ships full of equipment still in the Mediterranean? Plus, Egypt will ask for additional aid to allow the ships to pass through the Suez Canal. What about the M1 tanks that are coming from Germany. Plan "B" must not include using those assets, huh? I certainly don't know but, I don't think it is Friday or even next week. However, I do recall Franks saying over a month ago, "we're ready to go."

I'd like to see Bush interrupt The West Wing. "We interrupt this conterfit president to give you the real president.." That would be sweet.

Yeah, I know, and Iraq probably won't be able to do that much with warning -- but this is a habit the U.S. is developing. And all of the machinations at the U.N. do not help the problem one bit.
And at some point there will be an enemy who is both wiley enough and capable enough to do us a world of hurt because we are required, by world and internal public opinion, to be so transparent about our military actions (particularly our offensive actions).
To: Howlin
Even CNN has denied air coverage request, so it seems clear that this is not THE speech.

Try to get him to leave in exile? Maybe it's meant to scare the Iraqis into a coup?Might get some folks to start moving around the country; the better for us to track them so we can pinpoint their whereabouts next week.

We are expending valuable political capital while stuck in the UN/Turkey tarbaby.
Best to jump our asses in the briar patch and get on with it.
It's very hard to tell how much we know intel-wise is simply subterfuge and disinfo.
Let's Roll.
