North Korean Missile Warhead Found in Alaska
The warhead of a long range missile test fired by North Korea was found in the US state of Alaska, a report to the National Assembly revealed yesterday.
According to a United States document, 'The last piece of a missile warhead fired by North Korea was found in Alaska,' former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Nakayama was quoted as saying in the report.
'Washington, as well as Toyko, has so far underrated Pyongyang's missile capabilities.'

My BS Meter is going off... Rightfully so.
IF that missile were going to impact on US territory, alarms would have been screaming inside Cheyenne Mountain.
The only way a N. Korean missile component got to Alaska without triggering a missile attack warning is if somebody snuck it there by ship, airplane, or dog sled.

If they found the warhead then they were tracking it. Otherwise they would never find it.
But this smells of BS anyway.
To: demsux
How did they fire a missile that reached Alaska, without our knowing about it? Something doesn't smell right here.
You may be right. The article, though, mentions "the last piece of a missile warhead." I don't know the trajectory of the NK test shots, but IIRC, they were detonated in the stratosphere. Perhaps one of fragments ended up in Alaska?

Ummmm BS
If this really happened Lil Kim would be presiding over a radioactive crater.

This has to be BS.
Think for a minute.
If they had done this, we would have detected it. We would not have known if it was real or a test. With it coming towards Alaska and impacting there, we would have gone to DEFCON1 and probably returned fire.
The BS Meter on this is off the scale IMHO.

Why not post the whole thing, or do we have an agreement with these folks too?

I wonder how much the Cash Cow, Uncle Soddomite paid for this story. Until I see some reliable references, this story gets my Bravo Sierra award for the day!
Maybe so, but isn't the Korea Times published in Seoul?
To: longshadow
That was my guess, possibly transport by boat off the coast?
But the radar would still pick up a low flying ordinace right..

Hard to tell the difference lately between the NK's and the SK's.

The report was the culmination of monthlong activities of the Assemblys overseas delegation to five countries over the North Korean nuclear crisis. The Assembly dispatched groups of lawmakers to the United States, Japan, China, Russia and European Union last month to collect information and opinions on the international issue. Since when did the European Union become a country?

"If this really happened Lil Kim would be presiding over a radioactive crater." When was it supposed to have happened?
The phones are ringing at NORAD as we speak.

NK has missiles that get get that far up in the stratosphere and rain debris down on Alaska?

That was the very first thing I thought. Perhaps there is more, because I also find it improbable that someone was just walking along in a state the size of Alaska and stumped their toe on a North Korean missile.
