Estrada Watch: George Will Agrees, It's a Coup!
In his syndicated column in this morning's Washington Post, George Will drives home the same point I made in yesterday's edition of the Update: The Democrats' filibuster of Miguel Estrada's confirmation to the DC Court of Appeals is nothing less than a coup against the Constitution, an effort by a minority of 41 senators to deny President Bush his power to appoint judges. Mr. Will, who will deliver a keynote address at FRC's Washington Briefing next month, cites Alexander Hamilton in Federalist Paper 76. Hamilton said that the Senate's constitutional role of "advice and consent" on judicial nominations extends only to keeping "unfit characters" off the bench. No one argues seriously that Miguel Estrada is unfit. The American Bar Association gave him its highest rating, he graduated with honors from Harvard Law, and he has argued 15 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, winning ten of them. A handful of extremist Democrats are trying to overturn the results of the election, and the Republican Senate leadership cannot allow this coup to succeed.

Is there any place to send contributions to keep this on the air longer and/or in a larger area?

Great news about radio ad calling Leahy to task. Wish we had one here in FL telling the latest RAT presidential hopeful Graham that he needs to show if he's qualified to lead this country - i.e. country over party???
Senator Graham:
I see in today's Melbourne paper that you are going to run for President. That of course is your right. However there is one action that as a presidential contender you should act on immediately. That is to stop your fellow Democrats in the Senate in their attempt to damage the constitution and abuse their "advise and consent" responsibility to the President's Judicial nominations. What a few Democrats are doing to the Senate, Mr. Estrada and this country is bordering on criminal.
What about war against America by terrorists don't they understand? Why do they continue to play political games when our country is in danger? Is their allegiance to regaining power at any price or to this country?
Senator Graham believe me, a vast majority of true Americans are more than fed up with the actions of the Senate Democrats. You have the opportunity to show that you place country over partisanship. If you think you are presidential material, we need to see where your allegiance lies.

I just called my Senator's office .... Edwards (Yech!) ...... told him I've been one of the "regular people" of North Carolina he claims to represent for all of my life and I am disgusted with the 'rat filibuster. It's time to stop this obstructive behavior and subversion of the Constitution now!

Running an ad in VT against Leaky Leahy is a waste of money.
It should be run in areas where Senators could be threatened or otherwise turned. Leahy will never change and the people of VT don't seem to care.
With the likes of Leahy, Jeffords and Sanders, they are hopeless.

Well done, my friend.

It should be run in areas where Senators could be threatened or otherwise turned. I'm sure those are coming. Going after the ranking member of Judiciary creates a bigger (initial) media splash, meaning free publicity.

Never say never, my friend.
Think of all the things that have happened that people thought couldn't be done .....
..... Columbus was told he would drop off the edge of the earth ...
..... that rag-tag colonial army didn't stand a chance against the mighty British forces ...
..... man couldn't fly, much less go to the moon and walk on it ....
..... polio and other diseases couldn't be dealt with .....
..... an actor by the name of Reagan couldn't become one of the greatest Presidents the U. S. has ever had ....
History is full of events that "couldn't" happen ..... :-)
If the people of VT are told the truth, maybe a few will wake up. It certainly won't hurt to try.

With the way the 2002 elections went, I certainly would not count my chickens before they hatched if I were a dimocrat.

I don't know much about the
American Renewal organization, hoosiermama, but there's a link to donate at their website. They don't say where and when this ad is running. Great idea, though, this public "shaming".
Perhaps a previously proposed Hollywood celebrity "dunk tank" "USO" tour to raise money for the war effort could include Democratic Senators. (^;

You're very welcome, friend. Republicans are working hard at getting the news out...with little assistance from the mainstream media. We can only dream of the day when Rather and the UN are
both irrelevant.
Another news bite:
No Cloture Vote Yet
I just spoke with someone in Majority Leader Frists office. He confirmed that Fox News was incorrect when it asserted that Frist had scheduled a cloture vote.
