Dish It Back to Cyber Protesters (Freep Sheen)

Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 1:10 p.m. EST Dish It Back to Cyber Protesters

Another group is about to endanger national security and interrupt the workings of the White House and Congress by cyber-marching on Washington tomorrow.

Moveon.org (whose phone number is 510-524-6100, and whose e-mail addresses are Press@moveon.org, info@moveon.org, info@moveonpac.org, and wboyd@moveon.org, and doug@moveonpac.org, just in case you want to, oh, we don't know, bombard them with phone calls and e-mail), claims to be trying to build public advocacy groups to better represent the "public." But it is really just protesting the "war on Iraq," which, in case anyone has noticed, is not actually going on, not that any liberal cares.

The group claims it has 145,000 people ready to swamp the president and the Senate with inane e-mails, calls and faxes. Sounds as if it's asking to get a taste of its own medicine, just like Martin Sheen's hypocritical outfit of "artists."

Realists understand that mass e-mails and faxes, rather than personal letters and live protests, have little effect on politicians. "The virtual person still doesn't translate into a real person," said Nova Southeastern law professor John Anderson, a U.S. House member from Illinois for 20 years.

Contributing to the fear of in-person commitment is an apparent irrational fear of police brutality.

"The thing with physically protesting is there's always this wild card of what are the police going to do, what if there's some wacko out there," said organizer Rick Spisak. (Uh, who's the wacko, Rick?)

"They can't lock us away; they can't gas us on the Internet," he told the Sun Sentinel. Riiiight. The all-powerful, infamous "they.”

So, for the less-than-courageous-yet-bent-on-protesting-a-nonexistent-war, moveon.org has made the phone call process conservative-proof, giving potential protesters a list of leftist "talking points," such as New York Times poll results and the commercial in which "I'm not the real president, I just play one on TV" Sheen says, "Inspections work; war won't."

We're not sure what Sheen means, since Iraq is not disarming but thwarting inspectors ... but whatever.

So again, be sure to call 510-524-6100, and e-mail Press@moveon.org. info@moveon.org, info@moveonpac.org, and wboyd@moveon.org, and doug@moveonpac.org to tell them what you think of their tactics.

I think that FR should post a list of every one of these anti-American Hollyweirds, get as many of us to promise to boycott them, and then alert Fox News about the boycott. Get it on the air. Let these jerks know that we will never again partake in whatever their venue is; film, music, tv, literature. Hit 'em where they live, in their wallets.

Aren't there some laws against this? RICO and anti terrorism for example. So the Clymers have decided that anyone who has a good reason to reach Washington has no rights because of their game. Grow up libs.

They really don't have that number of 'volunteers'. They think they do...but they have been/are getting FREEPed :)

Dear Virtual March Participant,

Thank you for joining the over 200,000 people who have signed up to
phone and fax tomorrow. The media coverage has been incredible,
and now we need to follow through. It's time to take our
opposition to war back to Washington. Every call is a crucial
part of delivering an unbroken stream of constituent feedback,
throughout the entire day tomorrow. Let's march.

*** Your calls are scheduled to begin at 11:58AM Eastern Time
*** on Wednesday, February 26th

Please print or record the information on this page so that you'll
have it tomorrow, when it's time to make your calls. The exact call
times are listed below. Please try to keep close to these times.
If you get a busy signal, please try again at least once.

It's very important that we all treat the staff who answer these
calls with the utmost courtesy and respect. It's going to be a hard
day in these offices, and nerves may be frayed. Your calm expression
of opposition to war will be even more powerful in showing just how
mainstream this sentiment is.

Be sure to leave your name and address, so that the staffers can
know you're a constituent and will record your feedback. Tell them
about your opposition to war in Iraq, in your own words.

Here are the numbers:

Senator Lautenberg
202-224-3224
11:58AM Eastern Time
February 26, 2003

Senator Corzine
202-224-4744
12:03PM Eastern Time
February 26, 2003

For your third call, we recommend trying the White House. However,
our experience is that the White House comment line is often busy.
We also recommend calls to Senate leadership. Here are all the
phone numbers. Choose at least one from the list:

The White House 202-456-1414 or 202-456-1111
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist 202-224-3344
Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle 202-224-2321
Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell 202-224-2541
Senate Minority Whip Harry Reid 202-224-3542

12:08PM Eastern Time
February 26, 2003

As a reminder: here's the comment you typed in when you registered
for the march:

"I will be going over my ideas for disarming Iraq. Will also mention the
innocents and refugees."

A random selection of these comments will appear in our online
"antiwar room" at the time of the calls. We can't display all
comments -- there are just too many, even displaying one per second.
Tomorrow, you'll find the online version of our "antiwar room" at
the Virtual March HQ at:

http://www.moveon.org/winwithoutwar/

The Virtual March on Washington has been a fantastic coalition
effort, built on the work of dozens of good organizations, thousands
of volunteers, and hundreds of thousands of individuals. Thanks for
making it happen. It's been amazing and with your help, tomorrow
will be truly historic.

Sincerely,
--Wes Boyd
for MoveOn.org and the Win Without War coalition

P.S. If you haven't yet signed up to send a fax, our friends
at True Majority are offering free faxes. It just takes a
minute to cue up your fax online at:

A great idea. Add a note to each of their agents or ad sponsors explaining why they are going to be losing money, too. Watch how fast these oh-so-principled celebrity activists change their tunes.

Insane. But what else could one expect from the Left, those who long ago "turned on and dropped out" and their discipl victi useful fools?

Hey, I just had some fun. I went to moveon.org and signed up as a volunteer - of course I gave a fake name and addy. The best part is at the very end there's a comment box for you to answer the question "how do you feel about this issue?" Wow, was that a fun one to answer! If you have some time go fill one out and keep them busy reading garbage. Don't give a funky name though because you want them to read the issue thing.
