Moderators, please pull if a similar thread has been started. I did a search on "snow" and blizzard" and came up with nothing.
What originally looked to be primarily a mid-Atlantic snowstorm has blossomed overnight into a monster snowstorm that threatens to shut down the major cities of the Northeast for tomorrow.
Just got the latest forecasts. Washington D.C. area will see 1-2 feet. Philly will see 17-34 inches according to their local mets. NYC will see 1-2 feet. And Southern New England (including Boston), which was originally thought to be missing this storm, is now pegged to get at least 10-20 inches before all is said and done with possible blizzard conditions tomorrow night as the storm explodes ("bombogenisis") off Nantucket island during the day.
Some very impressive snowfall reports already coming in despite the fact that the storm hasn't even developed off the coast yet. Some 8 inches is on the ground in the DC area and snow is falling heavily in the Philly area and parts of New Jersey. This snow is NOT from the storm that is expected to develop off the Carolinas this afternoon, move northeast and "explode" off Nantucket Island during tomorrow.
These storms are never a sure thing until they happen because they are so unpredictable. But this storm has all the ingredients to make it a storm of historic proportions from Washington D.C. to Portland, Maine. If everything falls together just right, we could be looking at 2 feet (or more) of snow in many urban areas of the Northeast over the next 36 hours.
Please post your local reports here.

That looks like a Maltese--we have a Bichon who loves the snow, and you're right--it's easy to lose her! It's Bichon weather, for sure.

That's what FReeper FRiends are for.
I wonder how Loan Palm is making out - he was due to head back this way tomorrow from NC.
Getting him a route around a blizzard is going to be a bit trickier than steering him around a derailed train!!!

ROFLMAO!!!!
I'm going to send both of them to my friend.
As someone earlier mentioned, storms tend to bring out memories - I totally forgot this guy used to be an ABCC enforcement officer!!!!!!

Take one (1) gallon-jug pasturized apple cider, room temperature.
Add 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon yeast.
Shake.
Replace cap with cork, with 3/8" copper tube through hole in center.
Set glass of water on table next to jug.
Bend tube over, stick free end in glass.
After a couple of days, watch for bubbles in glass.
After three weeks, bubbles will stop.
Run resultant mixture through a coffie filter until clear.
Use with caution.

How deep is it in Baltimore now, anybody there? You're referring to the snow...right?
To: Travis McGee
My daughters say it is "damn deep" but I think they might have been in one of the bars. They sent pics and it is amazing. We were skiing in colorado and they were supposed to fly home today but panicked and flew home yesterday when they saw the weather channel. They had to be at work Monday but now I don't think so. The harbor is covered with snow, the water. They were considering snowboarding down federal hill. More snow in Maryland than in Colorado,,we did have a great ski week though.

I'm afraid we've lost Baltimore.

News just said MD state of emergency will be lifted at 4 am tomorrow.
No such luck here. Mommy Minner will not give any hint when she will lift ours.
A fire engine has overturned when responding to a call not far from me.
All plowing here has been halted until 5 am.
