President Bush just gave another GLOOOORRIOUS speech in Grand Rapids MI. In talking about Iraq he stated that he "went to the United Nations because I wanted the UN to be something other than an empty debating society". It was priceless.

He also asks citizens to contact their Senators about putting reasonable caps on medical malpractice so "this lawsuit lottery doesn't ruin our health care".

You'll see transcript of speech soon.

Supposedly, the land reverts to the Rockefeller family if the UN goes away.

Curtis Dall, FD Roosevelt's son in law as quoted in his book, My Exploited Father in Law: "For a long time I felt that FDR had developed many thoughts and ideas that were his own to benefit this country, the United States. But, he didn't. Most of his thoughts, his political ammunition, as it were, were carefully manufactured for him in advanced by the Council on Foreign Relations One World Money group... Brilliantly, with great gusto, like a fine piece of artillery, he exploded that prepared "ammunition" in the middle of an unsuspecting target, the American people, and thus paid off and returned his internationalist political support.

"The UN is but a long range, international banking apparatus nearly set up for financial and economic profit by a small group of powerful One World Revolutionaries, hungry for profit and power.

"The depression was the calculated 'shearing' of the public by the World Money powers, triggered by the planned sudden shortage of supply of call money in the New York money market... The One World Government leaders and their ever close bankers have now acquired full control of the money and credit machinery of the U.S. via the creation of the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank."

I'm perfectly happy with the UN as an empty debating society, and as soon as they are less than that I'll be happier still.

The question is............ what does Bush hope to accomplish by saying this? To inspire them to take more control of the world, which is the UN goal?

wanted the UN to be something other than an empty debating society.....

On this my President and I will disagree. I want the whole UN building emptied and all those free thinkin international welfare weasals back on their own turf.

They are not an asset to freedom. Never have been. Just a PC speed bump that the world placates. Disband the UN today and I'd bet my last dollar that 50 percent or better of those infesting the building would defect and ask for asylum in the US.

They have been too long on the sugar tit to give it up now.....Stay Safe !

GW said he took the Hussein issue to the UN because he "wanted the UN to be something other than an empty debating society". I think he said it to illustrate their impotence and ineffectiveness in confronting military action when needed.

Why does Bush want the UN to be more than they are? More control??????????

In the language of Bushbots, this is called "standing up to the UN".

Dubya is hoping to kick the UN's rear end and get some action.

This was directed at Germany and France, I believe who said they would veto the 2nd Security Council resolution and then reversed field the next day.

The President wants no more of that..

Juan has the ability, though, to listen and to allow himself to grow and develop. Few liberals have this ability. He also has the ability to think for himself and he does not always walk in lock-step with his fellow liberals. And they criticize him for it.

We know exactly what he said. He's a pro-UN internationalist just like his father. He has no concern for his country's sovereignty. Just ask President Fox.

W was on the roll today at Grand Rapids. His delivery was perfect! He named another 3 Axis of evil to day: IRAQ, THE UN and THE TRIAL LAWYERs.

This was directed at Germany and France,

During WWII, France thought defendng Ethiopia wasn't worth it. It wasn't long before Nazi troops were driving tanks through their neighborhood.
The Germans simply joined the gang.

These two nations have no credibility anyway. I'm sure most people remember Nazi Germany.

Figures. I'd still rather see that land as the new Rockefeller Center than as the UN anymore. The UN needs to give up and start over again. No shame in that; they're just as toothless and feeble as the League of Nations was. It just took longer for the rest of the world to wisen up.

I'm convinced that it is a back-of-the-hand slap to the collective face of the UN. He's saying "You are irrelevant, you are empty suits, and I'm going to prove it to the people of the United States."

BTW, the UN is more than an empty debating society. They are a group determined to steal money from US and put it into the pockets of 3rd world dictators.

I like untried as it better symbolizes the current group that runs the UN.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

You don't think it is "standing up to the UN" to say that they are in danger of becoming an empty debating society? Compare that to the flowery hot-air that Bubba used to expend on the UN, as "The hope for all our children and the foundation of the bridge to the 21st century, etc., etc...ad nauseum"

I'd say Bush is right on the money on this one.

Yes, he certainly was! Strong, convincing. I've tried to find an entire transcript of the speech on the web but so far only come across snippets of it that are in news articles about the various topics he touched on.
