On the "new posts to you" it takes all day to load the page because of all of the graphics. Can't you just list the topics???

If you keep making posts like that, we will have to have another FReepathon to pay for all the storage space you are wasting. :P

On second thought, short replies might be better. Ya know....there should be a test to qualify for posting provileges.
Anything that says HELP....or...I need advice.....or the ever hysterical...How Do I Post A Picture, should be screened in advance by a select group of qualified Freepers.
Of course, I was one such a panel, I would let every damn one through!!!

Should the first test be logging on and off??
:^)

If we turn the servers on their sides, then the 1's and 0's become -'s and 0's. The -'s are shorter than 1's and take up less room. This makes the storage go further.

Should the first test be logging on and off?? No...I would probably give the person a pass on that one.
Not sure why....but I got a soft spot for people with those handicaps.
all this time...and no one noticed I was missing a laka until now.

all this time...and no one noticed I was missing a laka until now.Well... We didn't want to say anything. While we're on the subject, your shoe's untied.
...and there's something hanging from your nose.
...no, on the other side.

...and there's something hanging from your nose. My sinus problem is none of your damn business!!!
As to the untied shoelace....this is gonna sound wierd..but...I looked down...and the damn thing started to untie by itself at first I thought you were exercising some sort of ethereal power over me.
I was scared.
Then, I realized, that the tip of my shoelace was somehow caught under the adjustable thingy on the bottom of my desk at work.
Because I was so engrossed in the fact that my shoelace was trapped...I didn't take into account, that I had foregotten to remove the Kleenex from the nostril, that started sopping up the the nosebleed, I encountered...because I was liviing in such a rarified atmoshpere,of a Democratically controlled New Jersey

Didn't mean to freak you out.
I suppose that I shouldn't say anything about the piece of lint.

There is a better way. In your Internet Explorer browser, go to "Tools", then "Internet Options", then click on the "Advanced" tab. This will bring up a list of items with major headings with individual topics below these headings. Scroll down to "Multimedia", and under this heading there are several topics dealing with graphics. Uncheck the box beside "Show Pictures", then accept the change. When the window closes, click on your refresh button.
Until you go back and change this option back, no pictures will be downloaded and your screen update time will be substantially less. This feature is very beneficial if you have phone dial-in access rather than high-speed internet access.
If any time you want to see the pictures, just go back through this procedure and re-click the "Show Pictures" box, then accept to close the window, click on your refresh button again, and voila, upon refreshing the screen, the pictures will be brought back.
Now, if you're using some other browser (I'm not familiar with), search through the available drop down tabs for a similar capability.
I hope this helps.

"one's own posts show up as "New posts to you", " Actually that's a feature for us old codgers who can forget if we hit the "post reply" button. If the "new posts to you" is bolded, we know we posted the reply.

You know... after you turn the 1's into -'s, you put each - inside a 0 and turn them into 8 and make everything half as big as before.
