I'm the one who said something [about Sean Hannity] and I am no disruptor
Sean Hannity's Radio Show

I just heard Sean complain that he is getting attacked by FReepers and implied that it is affecting his support of the site.
I havent seen any attacks on Sean but I did post my opinion that Sean was gonna hang himself with the Trent Lott issue.
And in the end...I was correct.
Lott is gone...like he should be...I like Sean but he got out ahead of the curve on the Lott issue and found himself basically alone.
We all know what was behind the Lott assault and the bias of the Liberal media and the hypocrisy of the Democrats on racial issues but Sean's case appeared to be full fledged support for Trent Lott. Something which most Conservatives did not do...with or without the Thurmond remarks.
Dont whine Sean...next time be on the correct side of the issue.

Please point out to me the thread in which at the end, the disgreeing parties say "Hey thanks for ripping me a new one! You know my views were horsehockey and I needed your raucous criticism to knock some sense into me." I have never seen such posts on this site. If you have please point them out to me.

I don't agree with Hannity probably half of the time, but I like the guy because I think he's honest and I think he really cares. With that said, he's just going to have to get over himself and grow a thicker skin. It's not like anything he says or does is going to impact this site in any major way - FR is its own monster.
A word of advice, if you're reading Sean: Your time is better spent destroying liberals, than crying and whining about "freepers".

Sean just responded to you on his radio show.

What'd he say?
To: VaBthang4
Hannity's program has too much talk about TITS (Terrorism, Iraq, Taxes and Sean. In NY area I switched to Reilly who is almost as bad.

My only point is that too many folks on FR attack other conservatives as idiots, kooks, commies etc. because they have a take on conservativism that flows out of a different philosophical foundation. We should defend our views, but one does not automatically become an enemy because there is some slight deviation in philosophy. For example, many Christian conservatives get bashed by the libertarians because of their views. Such wars are pointless and serve no purpose. A Christian will never drop their view if they are based on their faith.

Sean was laughing about this thread on his radio show. He said some Freepers are telling him to get a thicker skin. I didn't hear his earlier comments, but I quess he was complaining about the criticism he's gotten on FR.
Anyway, he said he loves all of us Freepers and doesn't really mind the bashing.
Also, he praises us for the "Get out of Cheney's house" freeps and the Patriot's Rally this past weekend.
And he gave a great plug for FR.

THIS is so funny ... Rush ruffles your dainty little tail feathers when he wants to - whereupon you dance the jig on his commnd! I don't dance a jig for Rush. My point was, he or Hannity will not hurt FR when they howl because they do not like something they have seen here.
To: Fred Mertz
Oh, I flagged you because TLB did, and it was to the same post.
It was in reference to TLB bumping someone's comment about disagreeing without being disagreeable. That doesn't happen on FR, most of the time. Why should Hannity get special treatment?

Now, elected and appointed government people have always been fair game and will continue to be.
What's so difficult to understand about that?
bttt
Trent Lott is no racist and that thread did stink!!!

Well, at least it's good to hear Hannity is not really disgruntled. IMO, Most people at FR really like the guy, but freepers will criticize when they feel appropriate. He should post somtime. I think it would cause quite a "tizzy".

The cons who said, "good toss him" only emboldened the racebaiting of the left and gave them more strength to pull this *^*t again...absolutely correct bump.....

Sean Hannity is one of the pillars of crusader conservatism in America. As such, he is the last line of defense of freedom, justice and truth left on the globe.
Along with Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, he stands apart from the pious, passive, polite and ponderous intellectual conservatives of the past like William F. Buckley who, though admirable, are decimated by the Liberal left fanatics of today who don't play by any rules.
Not so with Sean. Applied conservatism means streetfighting mano a mano and getting your hands bloody and dirty to passionately counter the lies and intimidation of the Socialists.
A true Crusader, a Warrior for Good, Sean has no greater friend than Free Republic, and is in perfect harmony to the principles for which it stands.
American Hero, Sean Hannity, you have earned our admiration and our respect.
P.S. Sean's defense of Lott was completely justified, as he knows only too well the hypocrisy and lies of the Left, who continue to confuse and out-manuever the Right through outright lies and intimidation. The Marquess of Queensbury rules unilaterally obeyed by Buckley and other pious conservatives simply will not work in the era of rap music murderers and Presidential rapists. The damage to Bush on the Lott issue is that he has emboldened the Left, and they now lie (!) in wait for another attack conspiracy set for a critical moment in the future. The worst is yet to come.

I have a bunch of issues with Hannity and I have expressed here often that I am less than impressed. In my opinion (and my wife's and my son's) he is a sound bite and cliche bound shallow thinker. We stopped watching him long ago and if there is an alternative to him in the car we don't listen. This is because we are tired of being disappointed.
Hannity blew it for me especially when he let Hillary on his show but allowed himself to be sidelined while Colmes worshipped. This is just not acceptable and shows that Hannity will talk tough enough but when the time comes to wrestle he knows his place.
On a more personal level I am disappointed with his personal choices in the immediate aftermath of 911. Hannity touts his working class, construction background. He works in NYC and lives on LI. To my knowledge his only appearance at GZ was professional, the equivalent of a photo-op. A lot of guys called in to say they weren't going to be at work then put on their boots and volunteered (some of those who did were even from the hated celebrity left). Hannity thought it was too important for him to stay on the air...self-important bs at the one time in his life when the war came to his backyard. Again, talk not action.
We deserve better and smarter.

We should not kiss the ass of anyone. The great thing that seperates us from the Libs-Democrats is that for the most part we are not syncophants. We do not toe the party line on all major issues like the Dems do (see abortion, war on drugs, Iraq, et al). Treat each person and issue on their or its merit and the truth will win out.

Hannity is no American HERO. He lives a well fed, safe, rich life and puts nothing at risk. (The same goes for sports HEROS) What he is is a public media figure who says what you want him to. That's it. And good for him for finding a way to get rich doing it.

Your post is so right on that it cannot be said better and the result--"The cons who said, "good toss him" only emboldened the racebaiting of the left and gave them more strength to pull this" x "again." is already a prophetic reality.
Sean didn't have to be a prophet for that one to materialize. All he needed was the good sense he often exhibits AND HE WAS RIGHT.
He is blessed with brain as well as standards. I seriously doubt that he expects many to agree with him on every issue, nor do I believe that he is thin-skinned or immature.
That is just the neo-con contrivance that the left leaning segments want to use to goad him into their approval ratings assemblage. If he goes there he loses credibility with the greater numbers who still use their heads, experience, history and facts (rather than currently generated hype and fuzzy mush) to conclude what the continually obscured reality may be.
His reasonable tolerance firmly fixed into the bedrock of principle sets him apart and gives him a stature that others may envy but have not the blessed ability to even emulate.
