I am completely willing to believe that Ritter is being blackmailed. The only question is whether they are blackmailing him with this or with something much worse. Given that pedophiles are usually acting as part of a larger pattern, it is the high probability that something much worse is out there that makes me think that he could be subject to much stronger compulsion by a blackmailer.

In any case, this whole business makes him enough of a security risk that if he says the sky is blue, I'm going to go outside and check for myself.

I was just responding to a statement that it seems that a lot of high office holders appear to be perverts. I think that this may be due to the fact that there are a lot of people who are very interested in providing them with temptations that are generally not present. Match that up with an underlying proclivity, and you have a ready-made subject for blackmail.

One would have to assume that this is going on, wouldn't one?

It's on Drudge, now. Not a headline, but there are two story links. The lead story says that Ritter just filmed an "anti-war commercial" in NYC, then headed to Bagdad. (I'm sure, Uncle Saddam has a "present" waiting for him.) What a piece of work. Sleazeball.

Ritter's best bud William Pitt and his liberal ilk probably think that this sort of behavior is cool. Like their hero Clinton, sexual exploitation of women is A OK for lefties, so long as the "heroes" are useful idiots that support the liberal agenda. Believe me, Democratic and left-wing men are notorious women-degraders. (I should know. it all depends on the law of the particular state. Some states have 'age of consent' laws that allow a man to have sex with a 16 year old girl if the man is only 3-5 years older than the girl. But each state has different laws. I'm sure in some states even an 18 year old man could go to jail for having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend.

Well, first we had Ritter denying it was him - claiming mistaken identity. Then, with the exception of Fox and Rush, no major media outlets covered the story. Maybe Drudge was waiting for proof positive before opening up his 5,000,000 hits-a-day can of worms. The John Edwards of the world will make one cautious.
