Thank you for another year of freedom and safety and comfort. As a vet, I know you're far from home, missing family and what is normal to you. But please know there are a few of us back home here who remember you, hold you near to my heart, appreciate you and understand what you are sacrificing and pray for your safe return. You will never be forgotten or taken for granted. Now go do your job with your head held high. Happy New Year and Godspeed on your return.

Please say a prayer for our military and our allies military.
Think things are ok with them?
Check the threads in breaking news.
Now think about how lucky we at home are.
Remember they are the only reason the Canteen exists.
It's their home away from home.
Think they are not lonely?
I work with some of them each Thursday.
Take the time to post and/or write them each day.
They are the true hereos and stars of the Canteen.
There are some of them here each and everyday.

I got a reply from a sailor just a short while ago to an e-mail I'd sent this evening. It's always a thrill to hear from our troops. And writing to them is a pure pleasure.

Check the Breaking News? That's what brought me to FR in the first place. giggle! I check that every day, before I do anything else here and throughout. A very good source for up-to-the-minute news.

And why I keep our troops in my thoughts and prayers constantly. God bless America and watch over our troops!
