Send Senator "Taliban Patty" Murray (D-Wa)
an e-mail asking her to resign her Senate position

By now I am sure you are all familiar with the statement that Senator Patty Murray, the Democrat Senator from Washington State, made which was praising Osama bin Laden. There is an article that was posted today which showed that now the TalibanOnline has put the article from WorldNetDaily on their website.

It is disgusting that a U.S. Senator would give "aid and comfort" to the enemy by making such a foolish statement. That the enemy has put it up on their website is a good illustration why the old rule that criticism of the President (and etc.) stops at the borders. ONLY Liberal Democrats don't seem to honor that unwritten rule of honor anymore. In fact, the Liberal Democrats don't seem to have any honor about a lot of things. But that's another subject.

Here is the link to the TalibanOnline site and the text of the article they reference:

Democrat senator praises bin Laden
Posted on Monday, December 23 @ 14:36:54 ICT By Pak Taliban
Osama bin Laden December 20, 2002, By Art Moore

SEATTLE – Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., told a group of high-school students in her state that the U.S. should adopt Osama bin Laden's nation-building tactics.

"We've got to ask, why is this man so popular around the world?" said Murray, according to the Vancouver Columbian newspaper. "Why are people so supportive of him in many countries that are riddled with poverty?"

The second-term senator, who faces re-election in 2004, was responding to questions from world history students and student government leaders at Columbia River High School in Vancouver, Wash., on Wednesday.

Murray said, according to the Vancouver paper, that bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."

"How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?" Murray asked.

Murray, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the 107th Congress, voted against an October Senate resolution – passed by a 77-23 margin – that gives President Bush authority to use military force against Saddam Hussein's regime.

Murray concluded the session with students by challenging them to consider alternatives to war, the Columbian reported. She said that while building up Third World nations is costly, war is expensive too.

"Your generation ought to be thinking about whether we should be better neighbors out in other countries so that they have a different vision of us," said Murray. "It is a debate I think we ought to have."

(The rest of the story trie's to put down Osama with the same old rubbish and a thought, is this why the Kuffar in Afghanistan are trying to set bases of the so called reconstruction phase, thinking if they look like helping the Afghan's that they might start to like them or something? No doubt the Russians did the same thing. What would please us is when you pack and go. (in sha Allah )

Also, here is a short audio of an excerpt of her remarks from December 20th:

I'd like to see the parents of the kids she spoke to bring in someone to give the opposing view..........

My daughter's social studies class was studying the Vietnam War last spring......she was excited about a Veteran coming to speak to the class about his experiences...... he turned out to be a 60 year old guy wearing an old fatigue jacket covered with peace sign patches and "make love not war" type of insignia........

All he did was bitch and whine and make the kids uncomfortable.......

I was ready to go to the principal with a complaint when my daughter said one of the girls in class had complained and asked if her Father could come in to give the "other side".....her Dad was retired military and had served in Vietnam.......... My daughter said he came in uniform and gave them more facts and details and did, in fact, back up some of the feelings the first guy had commented about, but gave more explanation to what was going on in the world and the kids got a much better understanding of that War............

I sent an email a few days ago and as of yet there has been no reply. That's a first. Not even an auto generated reply saying my email was received.

"How was it that you managed to get a "personal" reply (even if just from an underling)?"

I didn't. I've yet to receive a "canned" response. We have a reporterette family friend who called me with Murray's spokesman's reply about the correspondence she's receiving.

Traitor. She needs to resign.

Too bad there is not a Republican governor in the state of Washington. We could gain another seat in the Senate.

I'd welcome being added to your Washington State ping list...it's my home state, although my adopted/current home state is great and just to the South.

One of my best friends is of Asian ethnicity and is a brilliant conservative activist. Trash Locke and crew as you will, but recognize that ethnicity doesn't determine ideology.

A DISGUSTING BUMP! Her own party should be all over her for these kinds of remarks.

Thanks for the ping, Meek!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but unless the media plays up this story (and they won't, considering it's already a week old), an onslaught of letters ("polite" letters asking for her resignation? LOL!) will only reinforce her delusion that she's just a victim of hate being stirred up by "right wing radio."

Patty's too dim to understand that she put her foot into her mouth, unless she sees it in the New York Times...and I don't know that there's a way to influence the media on this one before hell freezes over.

Thanks for sharing that with us!

Done. Plus, there is an online petition here: http://www.petitiononline.com/pmurray/petition.html. It was among the top 25 most active petitions yesterday for the petitiononline site, but has 115 signatures right now -- which is not very compelling.

Great response to post 18, dflan1973. I disagree with the policies of the various Democrats who are currently in place here in Washington. I could give a rip about their ethnic backgrounds.

The Trent Lott fiasco has -- ironically, I guess -- made me more outspoken about the poison of bigotry. I heard a talk radio guy here say, and I quote, "Just because all bigots are conservative does not mean all conservatives are bigots." He thought he was being supportive! He was surprised by callers who pointed out bigotry and racism can be found in both parties.

I hope 2003 is the year we Republicans lose any remnants of the shadow of racism. We are, at our best, the party of opportunity, and the only party that celebrates aspiration, excellence and achievement. That is what we should be known for. </end rant>

Most emmigrants to this country, despise the politics of the MF land from which they fled. Ethnicity doesn't matter here, but politics damn well do. Your politics seem to be completely lip coordernated with the rectum of any and all enemies of what we believe in.

Don't let the door knock some sense into your head on the back swing from the last rational person who flees that moss covered outpost of socialism.

If they were an Party of honor, they would. But they're NOT and so they won't. They would at least, hmm?...I forget the word (it's like a Senate wrist slap).

Thanks for the bump, Billie !

I have been to her office in WA DC and talked to her and her staff. She will never resign. She and her staff love power too much.

I did send her an e-mail though, even if I didn't ask her to resign, something she will never do. It is my hope that she will at least choose not to run for re-election and in the mean time act a little more respectable. Thank you for the post.

Senator Murray;

You have no idea how angry you have made me! I have seen your website apology, but it is too little!

It was bad enough to the image of Washington State and the moral of our armed forces, when 7th District Congressman McDermott went overseas and became a poster-boy for people who are trying to kill Americans. Now you have become a rallying point for the Taliban!

Please look at the following Taliban Website that praises you!

http://muslimthai.com/talibanonline/article.php?sid=1360&mode=thread&order=0

Personally, I don't think that you can ever sufficiently apologize to me or to the friends and families of the armed forces that defend our country. Regardless of your intent, SHAME ON YOU!

Over Christmas, the son of our neighbor came over to visit us and my oldest son, who was home from college. Our neighbor's son is an Air Force pilot on home from training. He is being deployed to the Middle East in mid-January. We discussed a number of things. He was talking about how he was wanting to go to college on the GI bill after his enlistment is up. He is proud to be in the Air Force and to have made it through as a pilot.

We too were proud of him. He had some problems graduating from high school and my two sons talked to him. My wife as a former teacher at the high school did an intervention that allowed him to re-take a course during the summer, yet allowed him to graduate with his classmates. Soon after that he enlisted in the Air Force. He has been a close friend of the family even before we helped him. He usually calls us when he is on leave from the Air Force.

I hope that as you enjoy your year end holiday, you reflect on the discredit you have brought to your country, the dishonor you have brought to your state, and the aid you have brought to people committed to killing Americans. I pray that my neighbor's son is not harmed by those you have so encouraged.

A voter in Washington State

I'm sure you're right - "Taliban Patty" lives in her own little Liberal Lala-Land world and will ignore criticism from our FReeper world....

..."polite" letters asking for her resignation? LOL!

Well, actually I said "strong, but polite" so as to encourage folks not to write pure hate mail, but rather to write constructive yet forceful letters. For example, like the one in post #10 that Aeronaut wrote.

Thanks for your comments....

I signed the petition (signature #11) yesterday. I forgot about that or I'd have included it in my article post. Thanks for linking it on this thread!

Regarding racism, the Republican Party is the party of Lincoln, who freed the slaves. You'll likely NEVER hear a Liberal 'RAT utter those words. The GOP has a MUCH better record of sincere inclusion. The 'RATS talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk. They [hillary most lately] accuse the GOP of being racists, but they are the racists. Liberal 'RATS continue on their "Divide Amerika" path. You might want to check out this article, and read post #12 also.
