Since I am a sports car nut, I receive many news stories about cars daily. Here is a story just published by Reuters about a new campaign by Ford. Sounds like ford is stereotyping a group to me...

In another development, Roman Emperor Seizur Ballis said he is going to feed gays to jaguars.

noting the group's wealth and taste for luxury goodsWhoa, whoa, whoa . . . wait a minute!
America's most oppressed, beleaguered special interest group is wealthy and has a taste for luxury goods?
I'm confused - what exactly does "oppressed" mean?

I wonder if the idiots in Ford marketing have considered what a turn-off this will be to the non-sodomites out there. Who wants to be driving the "gay" car?

Does Ford make the Miata?
It's technically Mazda, but Ford is running Mazda.
FYI, they also own Volvo.
I'd boycott, but all my relatives in the car business are dealers for Ford and we get a great discount.

Gee, I was going to say "gag me", but that didn't seem appropriate! I suppose they'll be changing their name to "Fork Motor Co.
I always thought Fords were cheap cars!

Wasn't Martina Navratilova hawking some SUV for a while? There was some dust-up over that.
To: texasbluebell
No, man. Martina was hawking a Subaru (not sure it could be called an SUV). They were trying to reach the WNBA demographic.

advertising campaign that would pitch Jaguars to gay car buyers Interesting choice of verbs. Their target market is "catchers".
To: www.corvettewave.com
Shouldn't they rename it the "Gerbil"?

The old Subaru "we're just girls" ads.

Another couple and ourselves were vacationing in Florida and pulled into a party store to ask directions.
Asked a "very friendly" man in a Miata for directions, who helped us out.
As we left we noticed the vanity plate on his Miata "N2MEN" pretty funny, or disgusting, or both.

Ford is targeting 2% of the population? Sounds like another Edisel to me. Of course I'm a GM MAN myself.

"was hawking a Subaru"
And I thought she was hawking up pubic hairs.
To: www.corvettewave.com
The "Probe"... the "Gerbil"... hehehehehe!
I wonder if they will re-route the exhaust pipe?
Another meaning for the word "Shaguar."

Ford has a seminal moment in marketing?
To: Enterprise
Ford is talking about equipping the Jags with condom dispensers to encourage safe driving.
