Howdy everybody!
I hope you all have a great and blessed Thanksgiving.
What I'm most thanful for this year,as in all years,is the love of a good family. My parents (both now 70) are still with us and in fairly good health. I'm going to my mom and dad's house for Thanksgiving dinner. My youngest sister and her husband and younger daughter will also be there. The older one is in the Airforce and unsure weather she will be at dinner with us but I know she will be there in spirit.
I'm also greatful for the fact that God saw fit to have me be born and raised in the greatest nation in the world, a nation were we have so much freedom and were we have such a strong and determined president and a lovely First Lady. May God bless America and May HE bless President Bush and his family.
On this thread, I want to invite everyone to post those things wich they are most grateful for, and/or your favorite Thanksgiving stories, recipes, and memories.
This should be a fun thread.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!

I am most thankful for my girls, my husband who puts up with me being a b*tch and that my in-laws are too far away to see them more often. I'm thankful for my nephews, their darling wives and all my great-nephews (a great-niece would be nice, Lord. Can you work on that?) I am blessed with a great Goddaughter and another wonderful niece who will soon be a police officer. (all she wants for Christmas is a gun!) I am so blessed. Thank you Dear Lord and may everyone who reads this feel as blessed as I am!!!

I'm most thankful for my health, health of my family, and, of course, FR.

What a nice thread to start!
I am thankful that I had a healthy pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (our second child) back in September. I am thankful that God has seen fit to give me a wonderful husband whom I have been married to for almost eight years, a bright, beautiful, and energetic 4 year old daughter, and the opportunity to stay home and raise my babies.
I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads, warm clothes on our backs, and food for our table every day. I am glad that my mother was able to find work again this year after being unemployed for almost a year. My first niece was born this year, a month early, but very healthy and happy now. I am happy that we will get to spend Thanksgiving with her, her mommy, and her daddy here in our home.
I am thankful to live in a country where I can practice my religion without fear and can speak my mind without fear. Even more so, I am grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so that I may do so.
I know there is more that I can list, but I will let others have their turn. Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving, Freepers!

I am thankful for my loving Christian family that raised me to be a thinking conservative.
I am thankful for my fiance, who loves the Lord and treats me with more care and affection than I could ever deserve.
I am thankful for my health and prosperity, and that of my husband-to-be.
I am thankful for the experiences the Lord has blessed me with during my lifetime.
I am thankful for my salvation through Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord.
I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to make right choices each day.
I am thankful to live in a nation where I am not physically persecuted for my beliefs.

Of course this year I am thankful that the Lord spared my wonderful husband from the heart attack he had last week. Everything else is gravy , so to speak. I am most thankful that I know I can depend on the Lord to get me through the hard times. God bless all for a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I am grateful I live in the greatest nation in the world. I can attend the church and worship my God in the religion of my choice. I can speak freely on a myriad of subjects without fear of recrimination. I have the right to bear arms to protect myself, family and property. I have a wonderful husband, beautiful children, a occupation that is fulfilling and a service to others and helping my fellow man. I have good friends with whom I can laugh with, cry with and know they will be there should a request for help be necessary. As for this Thanksgiving, after I attend our church service on Thanksgiving Day, I will be at work. I am truly blessed and grateful.
A quote from President Bush's Thanksgiving Day Proclamation for this year. "As the Pilgrims did almost four centuries ago, we gratefully give thanks this year for the beauty, abundance, and opportunity this great land offers. We also thank God for the blessings of freedom and prosperity; and, with gratitude and humility, we acknowledge the importance of faith in our lives."
God Bless this great nation, our President, our lovely First Lady, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the FReepers who post, speak out, and express their wit and wisdom on this thread.

I'm glad to see you mentioned your parents and their health. I'm really thankful for my parents, now ages 80 and 79, who are doing fairly well and better than a year ago. This will be the firt Thanksgiving I've spent with them since 1982.

Nice thread,Pippin! I have a lot to be thankful for, but I am especially thankful every day that God gave me the strength and wisdom to leave my home and family so that I could be here for my dear uncle during these challenging times. My husband and I came here because we were asked to. We gave up everything to do it since my uncle has NEVER asked for a thing from us, and we knew this must be very important to him. Well, the ceiling fell right after we got here because of an unattended plumbing leak. One tenant was taking extreme advantage of my uncle and was probably setting things up to steal him blind. My uncle had a heart attack and surgery not long after we got here, and had we not been here, Lord only knows what might have happened. The doctors say he would not have lived. I am thankful we brought my mom so she could spend time with her brother. I am thankful we brought our dog because the bad tenant was scared to death of him and voluntarily left! LOL! I am thankful that my kids are wonderful and understand our need to be here. I am thankful I know how to put drywall up! :) And mostly, I am thankful that my uncle will have thanksgiving and Christmas this year surrounded by family. I see his smile every single day and I know that God did a a wonderful thing when he guided us here.

I also am thankful for my parents(80yrs.old),my two beautiful daughters.I'm thankful for having parents who taught me to be respectful to others and that when I disobey I would be punished(many spankings). I lived in a home where we went to church and read the bible. I am also thankful for living in the GREAT U.S.A.and for our great president G.W. I guess I'm a liberals worst nightmare. May you all have a great Thanksgiving and remember to give thanks for all you have.
