FReeper ohioWfan has sent me the following message ...
"After an intense struggle to breathe that lasted more than 24 hours, Dad died this morning of 'Monster pneumonia.' His pain is over. He has been reunited with my mom and sister, his parents and all his siblings.
We have suffered the great loss of a great man, and a good friend. We will be together again some day, but the pain is enormous. We will be celebrating a Memorial Service for him on his 86th birthday on Sunday.
God is our comfort and support."
Please join me in offering prayers of support, strength, and peace for ohioWfan and her family.

Thanks so much for your post, OWF. Your dad was a wonderful man. God bless him and may he rest in peace.

In his 40 year dental practice, he stuffed cotton in the mouths of thousands of patients, and shared the Gospel of the love of Jesus with them. . . . LOL! so, he trapped, 'em, eh? I shall meet your father in the bye 'n bye....but he won't have any cotton while we talk. Sounds like he was a wonderful Christian, husband, father, friend, and Republican! Rare indeed. Blessings again to you and your family, Ohio.

]??? does not fall far from the tree, Lynnette. As you describe your father, I understand a lot better where you gained your convictions, your strength, and your love for the Lord. A part of your father will live forever in you, and may that beautiful thread from the tapestry of his life continue in your children and your future grandchildren.
May God hold you close.

Dear ohioWfan, what beautiful memories you just shared with us concerning your dad! He was indeed amazing, and in so many different areas of life. You were blessed to have him as a father. (And your teeth must be great as well! LOL) Take care and thanks for letting us be part of your family for a bit.

I am SO thankful that he lived to see George W. Bush as President after the horror of Clinton. He was so proud of this President, and how he was bringing the country he loved back to the Lord.Oh, me too! That is just terrific!
Ah, OhioW, I am so sorry your dad departed. We know he is free from his courageous struggle and is now probably organizing a softball team as I write this, full of loving memories and expectation that you all will be holding forth for him on earth.
What a beautiful tribute you wrote-I fell a little in love with this man you called dad.
I wish I could hug ya. I am so glad you have such a wonderful family all around you just now. You are much of the heart of this daily thread Rintense provides-and your words are never to be missed.
We are thinking about you, and praying that the comfort of that oh so special, quiet, calming peace, sent from our Father, wraps you up tightly while you consider the wonders of your own father and confront missing his presence here on earth.
Take care-Lynn in Indy

I just read about the loss of your father. Please accept my deepest sympathies - I know how hard it is to lose your father.
He must have been a wonderful person to have raised such a positive person as you. And remember, he is always with you.
God bless you in your time of grief. May He bring solace and comfort to you and your family.

Thank you, dear ohiow, for taking the time to post this warm tribute to a good man, while you are still so close to the loss.
Generations of godly men passing on their inheritance to their descendants, in an unbroken chain, is an awesome, awesome thing. You have been blessed in ways that many will never know or understand, but this also makes the parting more poignant. Praying God's comfort to all.
What a JOY to know He is with God right now, safely, and forever, and that, as he once welcomed you into this world with joy, he will be there to welcome you into the next world, with even more.

Thank you for taking the time to share your dad with us, OWF. Your words bring up such a clear picture of a man who loved his Lord, his family, and his fellow man. I wish I could have known him (and I wish I'd had a dentist like him, too!)
I thought of you today as I sat drinking a cup of coffee in front of the fire, missing my own dad and wishing he could be here to have some with me. After 2-1/2 years, the intensity of his loss is greatly diminished, but there will always be little things that trigger the memories. You have many wonderful memories of your dad and I pray those will be a comfort to you, as mine are to me.
I can just imagine your dad meeting all those folks in heaven with whom he shared the gospel directly and indirectly, just like Ray Bolz's song "Thank You." I'm sure he touched many more lives than even he realized, and now he will go on touching them through you and your brothers and sisters, and your children. What a legacy!
I'll be praying for you especially tomorrow, as you gather together for your dad's memorial service.
