California Election results for governor

It appears to me that the GOP is consistently losing the statewide offices because of voting in three counties. Virtually the entire state went for Simon with the exception of Oakland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles counties.

Actually, this result my put CA back in play.

Simon ran a hideous campaign, we all knew that. He also was underfunded. We knew that as well.

I strongly believe that Bush is stronger among Latinos than Simon was, who operated on the periphery of the Latino community. I think that a well funded (oh, say, perhaps 250 million dollars would be nice) Bush campaign could start working California to make it competitive and to drive down the Dem share of the Latino vote.

Yes, I was beginning to think the same way... though I hope our families will be around in 2006. Actually, I really believe that the Dems are attempting to flush all conservatives from the state.

You can see what's happening by looking at the demographics and voter reg is high growth areas of the state. The GOP families are literally fleeing to certain areas because of the influx of foreign companies and interests into certain areas.

This trend is dangerous for our immediate future and needs to be neutralized through economic action (i.e. control of chambers of commerce, development of new entrepreneurs, and capitalization of conservative companies).

The impact of the tech bubble is echoing in this election. You can see it visually on the map. The tech companies are sitting in every green county. Every red county has actual bricks and mortar investments and actual services to the population (and not .com bust out fraud).

Since there are no GOP reps in statewide office, the abuses are going to get worse. The only way it will change is if the federal justice department can defend our interests.

IN Tucson, we just opened up a Second Headquarters in the heart of the barrio. We WILL get our message out. We have been attending Latino events. Our Republican Party bought 3 tables at the last Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Dinner. A few of their board members were at our party last evening.

It will take time. Establish a Republican presence in their communities, and they will come.

Well, you can't run to Oregon or Washington.

You could think about Arizona or Nevada...but neither are very hospitable (in terms of weather).

We shouldn't run. These people are carpet bagging newcomers. Our families have been here for 100+ years.

At this point, given the horrible state of finances in Sac, you'd have to be naive or ignorant NOT to evaluate relocating major accounts outside of California.

At this point, it looks like Hawaii or Nevada are the two biggest options.

It hurts to lose this election, but thanks to Bones's map, I see a lot of good news.

You mention the liberal RAT owned media rags and their role in defeating Simon.

If every conservative as of today cancelled his/her subscription to these liberal RAT owned media rags and worked to get his friends and family members in Kali to do the same. By 2002, some of those liberal RAT owned media rags will be in real trouble. The LA Slimes and most of them are hurting due to decreasing ad $'s which will get worse as the Davis Watermelon Rats continue to tax and spend more as the state roars into even more bankruptcy.

If every mad Repubi, this morning cancelled their subscriptions to these Liberal RAT owned media rags, we will start to really smash the Rat media.

Ya know, Simon doesn't realize it now. But losing this race is a blessing in disguise. Whoever would have won this election wouold have had almighty hell to pay for the next four years. The economy in CA is in total disarray and because of the incompetence of the Dimwit for the past four years this state will likely be a financial nightmare the next four years.

Thanks for the kind words. We've got to re-evaluate the mix for 2004's election cycle. The rat race in the Cerritos area has changed. With Loretta's sister gaining the seat, it alters the situation there.

The CA GOP fed the Bush campaign polling data to show the race in CA was actually close. This impacts how a campaign is planned and how finances are allocated.

They caused the Bush campaign to waste time and money in a gone state by passing bogus info that the state was close enough to win.

How do you figure that? I think Davis is more than positioned to do the Presidential run. The guy cornered nearly 70 million dollars in union, casino, lawyer, and movie mogul donations. What else is there to know.

The primary is going to be Al Gore v. Hillary Clinton v. Gray Davis. When's the California primary?

Grampa Dave just beat me to it, but I want to thank each of you for the hard work and inspiration over these past few months. You often faced a lot of adversity from those here who should have been supporting you but instead chose to criticize and berate. Yet you persevered and demonstrated that Simon could indeed give Davis a run. He did not win by 10-14 points as the media and the Davis camp kept telling us he would. And if so many conservatives and Pubbies hadn't given up so prematurely, who knows what could have happened? But you can still be proud of your efforts!
