The Goron held up a newspaper in front of his face & pretended to read it the whole time--but he was turning the pages every five seconds and he kept one eyeball uncovered so he could look over each passenger as they walked by.
LMAO! That reminds me of this story I heard about him when he was in Congress. Apparently he was in some hallway in Capitol Hill reading a Physics book where a lot of people could see him, but rather than having his eyes on the book he had them on the people walking by. What a wierdo!

If Bubba Clinton is ever on the same flight as you are, and you see him get up to use the sink... I'd advise you to use the other lavetory on the plane!

I think folks would have to have flown Southwest to fully grasp the flavor of this scene. Southwest is a no-frills airline with open (not assigned) seating. There are generally a lot of business folks mixed in with other private individuals. While Southwest's service is generally good, it's by no means an upscale airline on the order of Delta, United or others. Southwest is one step up from Greyhound.
Southwest runs a very tight ship. They have cut their costs and often provide special ticket prices. They are one of the most solvent airlines these days. They have turned a profit during each of the last few years. They have developed a niche market that weathers adverse conditions well. I fly them intermittantly, and thought folks would find it rather amusing that Gore would be flying on type of airline. Most of us would think of him on some private jet or at least flying first class on a major airline.

Now come on, 'Roo, weren't you tempted to slip him a little disinformation?
You could have come up to him and simpered "Oh, Mr. Vice President! I just KNOW my friends and I would all vote for you again if you would only grow back that lovely beard!"
Was he wearing your favorite watch?
LOL. Pity you weren't wearing your SoreLoserman tee shirt.

I actually felt sorry for him at the time.We fellow FReepers are here to help you learn to overcome any nascent feelings of sympathy you might have for Gore and other Dems!

You should have said, 'Hey Al, you have a chad on your face.'

If you're too fat SWA charges for two seats. Hope Goron was charged for the 6 he and his guard took up.

we all basically ignored him, which was a little strange, now that I think about it.Why do you think this strange? It's what happened during the entire Clintoon presidency.

I think I would have protested that flying with citizen Gore presented a "risky flying scheme".

Too bad you didn't have the latest Limbaugh Letter for him to read on the flight.......
Also, I hoped you wiped your feet BEFORE stepping off the plane. You don't want any of his $hit sticking to ya! LOL!

Sounds exactly like my late night airport celebrity encounter with Tiny Tim. Come to think of it, it might have been al.
