Sawgrass Rebellion Comes to Life This Friday.
PRAC, Free Republic ^ | 10-14-02 | aaabest

Posted on 10/14/2002 6:59:24 AM PDT by AAABEST

Date: Friday, October 18th (Homestead on the 19th)
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Place: 18th Ave SE, Naples Florida (map)
Program: Live music, food, speakers, auctions, yard sale.

Larry Pratt, President of Gun Owners of America, and J.J. Johnson C.E.O. and Editor in Chief of The Sierra Times  are the latest additions to our lineup of those who will be speaking at the event. Our local radio station will be broadcasting from the premises and there will be a strong media presence including television, print and broadcast.

The Jarbridge Shovel Brigade and the Klamath Bucket Brigade will be there in force, after traveling thousands of miles and putting their lives on hold. They've spent thousands of dollars of their own money to make this happen. Their reward being the satisfaction of helping their neighbors and trying to make our country a better place to live. They put their money where their mouth is and it's up to us not to let them down.

After the Friday event, we will gather Saturday for a convoy across alligator alley to head to Homestead where farmers and homeowners are being intentionally flooded by out of control , un-elected and unaccountable government agencies who have plans to bulldoze large portions of their community, in direct violation of congressional legislation as defined in NEPA.  No exaggeration here folks. This is well documented and yes, it really is happening in your country

The property rights movement is growing by the day. Don't miss this opportunity to push back at the enviro-barons in our government and elsewhere who use the environment as a club in an attempt mercilessly smash our neighbors, our constitution, our way of life and our conservative voting blocks out of existence. They told us to build it and they would come. We built it, the rest is up to you.

How you can help.

1. First and foremost, SHOW UP and bring everybody you can with you. Take an early vacation, or a one day fly-in. Failure is not an option. If the Brits can bring over 400,000 to their Fox Hunting rally, we can do the same. Show the world what we're made of.

2. If you can't show up, tell everyone you know about this. Spread the good news. Ping this thread to everyone, email your lists whatever. You know what to do, spread the word.

3. Write to our politicians. HERE you'll find a list of all the politicians who are involved in this. Be polite but firm. FReep the hell out of these guys. Communities are being run over in a wholesale fashion, we must put a stop to this.

4. Donate to the cause. Unfortunately the enemies of your kin's future have billions of private money, and billions of your tax dollars to use against you. We must in able to fight back. You can also join PRAC or buy some Sawgrass Rebellion souvenirs.

5. Last but probably most important, use your God given talents to help. You are dynamic and powerful and are capable of accomplishing much.

This is a major FReep event. Here are just some of the FReepers who will be there:

Seeking the Truth - President of the Florida chapter of Free Republic. He will be selling his stamps and has made one for the Sawgrass Rebellion.

Conservative - Bill Ames, journalist and VIP for the Citizens for a Sound Economy.  Who have fully  backed the SGR from the beginning. He's riding with the convoy as we speak.

nunya bidness - Journalist for the Sierra Times.

Fearless Flyers - Owner of Fearless Flyers Kites. He has made a custom Sawgrass Rebellion Silk kite for the event. If you haven't seen his work, these things are pure silk and absolutely beautiful.

Issaquahking - traveling with the convoy.

sauropod - Longtime FReeper, land rights activist and member of the FR network.

Joe Brower - Founder of the California chapter of the Tyranny Response Team (TRT) and all around great guy.

TonyWojo - Member of PRAC and one of the organizers of the event.

AAABEST - Member of PRAC and one of the organizers of the event.

My Favorite Headache - Activist and FReeper. Helped run Jesse Jackson out of West Palm Beach during the 2000 election coup attempt by Algore.

Just a few of the other dedicated FReepers who will be there:
Teacher317
BOBTHENAILER
Beach_Babe
dorben
Prodigal Daughter
Nayt2
Eustace

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Glad to point the list toward it! Unfortunately, I've got other obligations which'll keep me here - please pass along my greetings and well-wishes to all there!

Jan is apparently loving it. He was not sure if he would want to be on the convoy for 10 days. Now I wonder if he will stay in Florida or want to ride back to Oregon.

Thank you sir. You are a true patriot, an effective FReeper and an all around golden guy.

You have a nice family too. Guess it doesn't get any better than that.

From recent experience of people that have tried to thwart the Sawgrass
Rebelion from securing a location for the event, I wouldn't put it past
the opposition to infiltrate with a few disruptors. Rather than making a
scene they may try to thwart by getting their message to the biggest media
reporters and journalists. Probably can't stop them from speaking their
mind to the press/media but if on top of the situation, they could be
followed by an articulate speaker that could negate the previous
person's/disruptor's comments to the reporter.

Yes sir.

There will probably be detractors, in the open and otherwise. We've faced unbelievable oppostion every step of the way.

We're letting God deal with them for now.

Our local press has been great on this for the most part. Honset liberals don't appreciate when the powerful become abusive.

Hey Folks,

The grit from the road washed away today, asphalt drumming a consistent beat beneath our rigs as the Klamath convoy crossed the Mississippi River at about 7:30 p.m. local time and entered the ninth state on our cross-country, 11-state journey.

Tonight we have gone to ground in Jackson, where we hope to present a bucket and shovel on the Capitol steps tomorrow. It was an easy day today, as everybody washed clothes and rested. Unfortunately, we had to trim Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from our itinerary because of time. That broke our string of visiting every state capitol and receiving a flag from an official. Our time in Louisiana was well spent, though. Bill Ransom found a country station that had fiddle music in nearly every song! None of that "ain't no trash in my trailer" Top 40 junk, this was real country, where Bob Wells and Hank Williams Sr. are still the kings.

It is pretty country too, thickly wooded and as green as Ireland. Fields of cotton and pastures are bounded by thick stands of pine trees, although I haven't seen a steer since we left Texas. It is awfully flat country though, especially for eyes used to the mountain ranges of the West. Common experiences are taking on new aspects these days. I am having trouble getting people in restuarants to understand me when I say words like "milk," or "eggs," and I have to repeat myself slowly. After a few times I realize that is is me, not them, that has a thick accent.

We crossed the Mississippi at Vicksburg, the site of a two-month siege and victory for Gen. Ullyses S. Grant during the Civil War. It is with considerable awe that we pass through places like this, where an old building may have stood in its place for more than 200 years. Back home, an old building is anything over a century, and there are damn few of those. Tomorrow looks to be a busy one, yet as we enter the Heart of Dixie the distances become shorter and the travel is all on Interstate highways. Our excitement is building for our arrival in Florida, scheduled for Thursday, and the rally in Naples on Saturday. Whenever I feel tired or down, all I need do is look at Frank and Peggy Wallace, two great grandparents who are on this trip because Frank overheard a conversation in a Klamath Falls restuarant about the Bucket Brigade needing help. As Peggy has said on several public speaking occasions, she is here because she saw what happened to her grandkids in 2001, and she is fighting for their children's future. Saddle update - although Texas was a dry state for fundraising, the saddle topped $1,000 in total donations at our last stop in Saginaw.

Goodnight, y'awl, and keep the home fires burning for us. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we look forward to watching the sun set through our windshields.

Kehn
