ANTI-FLAG
ME
Posted on 09/30/2002 7:44:20 AM PDT by MotleyGirl70
Sunday morning I woke and went to Micky Ds to get my husband a big breakfast and some other kind of breakfast food (I bought myself a large coffee).
As I waited in line behind 100,000,000 other people I looked to my left and saw three boys; Id say they couldnt have been older than 16 years old. Description of said white punks listed below:
Boy 1: Frizzed out hair, John Lennon glasses and a jacket that was infested with pins and patches. One of those patches read: Anti-Flag. (this set me off)
Boy 2: Blue hair, chubby and he had a top hat on.
Boy 3: Lets just say my cat craps bigger stool than this little twerp.
So as I was waiting in line I asked Boy 1; Whats up with that patch, Anti-Flag?
He said; Its a band.
I said Are you anti-American?
The punk said; Yes
I said Why?
To which he said: Vietnam, WWI and WWII did us no good. America kills the innocent.
At this point my blood is boiling and Im ready to punch this punk in the face and my food order is soon to be picked up.
I said; I dont give a shit what you think. When you get a job; and start paying taxes and contribute something to society your opinion doesnt mean shit. So take your 60s peace mentality and shove it up your ass. If you three represent the future of America, it scares me, it scares me very much. You want to want to be anti-American, go tell your b.s. to a United States veteran who fought for the very freedom you have. (
.I wanted to go on but I had to pick up my order and leave. I got a nod from some guy waiting in line in agreement with my confrontation with this kid.)
At that point I picked up my order, they left and I made my exit.
Is this the future of America? Anti-Flag?

I don't think anyone here is trying to negate your or OKW's service to our great country. I think most people just feel that letting people spit on our great country just isn't right. Many of my family members have fought for this great country, and I for one will NOT see their great efforts put up as a sham, no matter what the conflict!
Long live, and God bless America!

...the latest musician I had to put away was Ani DiFranco after I received a promo of the single featured on her new album, "Self Evident".I heard an interview with her on the radio recently.
They played audio from one of her concerts where they audience cheered loudly when she said "George Bush is NOT my President" or something like that.

They are 16 year old punks, how do you expect them to act?I thought the same thing. Dumb kids are less frightening to me than many of the posters here, on this supposedly conservative website, who will accept anything in the name of their party. Kids have a chance to change as they grow up, which cannot be said of thse who sell our legacy down the river in the name of hating Democrats. Just my 2 cents.

It's one thing to get mad at some ignorant punk (and probably brain-washed) kids, its another thing to cuss out strangers in public.
That kind of behavior is also reflectant of a '60s attitude.
If I had had a child with me and I was behind you in line, I'd be tempted to punch you out--just for your foul mouth....even though I agree with your outrage over the punks.
I wouldn't pummel you though, as self control is a good and conservative value.
All I may say is "WATCH YOUR MOUTH, MAN!"

It disgusts me that anyone would turn our precious flag, and/or American patriotism into something else...Me too. Ever seen these?
Statue of Liberty with marijuana leaf
"Peace" flag
"Ecology" flag

No, your missing my point. Of course there shouldn't be a law, and of course these punks have every right to spew whatever crap they want from their mouths. Freedom definately means hearing/seeing things you don't agree with. But that also means I have the right to make them hear things they don't want to hear. Make sense?
Isn't freedom great! I just think it's niave, and foolhardey to bust on people who gave you the freedom to spew commie drivel everytime you hit McD's. If it wasn't for good people like you (taken with a grain of salt :-}) then these boys would have something real to complain about, like enslavement!

So then what is your political affiliation?
Unless you don't vote, you don't have too many options in that voting booth.
I appreciate your service to our country, however, how do you choose to vote come election day?

If it wasn't for good people like you (taken with a grain of salt :-}) then these boys would have something real to complain about, like enslavement! And If it wasn't for the courage of those who dare to challenge the government (however misguided the challenge of these young boys may be) we'd likewise be enslaved.
I think people sometimes forget how the United States of America, came to be.

The first two are not right, imo. They too closely resemble the AMERICAN FLAG. To me, it's like burning Old Glory.

So then what is your political affiliation? I have no political affiliation.
I was once republican, but grew tired of pretense of freedom, while the party supported the ever-growing state.
I became a libertarian, but recognized that even libertarians fail to understand the full implications of their philosophy.. (but at least they have one).
Now, I am a man without a party... (and not seeking one).

Now your still missing my point. Your right, but couldn't these boys (and they were boys, hopefully they will see the light someday) could be using their hatred for the government a little more constructively couldn't they? I'll bet they'd love to see the second admendment thrown out, and if they got that, then where would they (and you, and me) be? That's right, enslaved.
Don't get me wrong, the government was always meant to be a tool of the people. But it has grown so large, that the people can't weild the tool, and now we're a tool of it. But spewing commie drivel will never make any of that better now will it. As a matter of fact, the only thing it can do is make it worse.....

Was this before or after you had coffee that morning?heheh
This was before my morning coffee. As you can tell I'm NOT much of a morning person. Im even more of beotch when I see leftie anti-American punks.
What a way to start the day. Eeech.
The day turned out okay! The Packers won!!!!!! :)

I agree with you, but "Freedom of speech" runs both ways, I suppose.

The founders of this once-great nation would have been sickened by both. Yeppers.
Great post!

But I have every bit as much compassion for their misguided silliness, as I have for the misguided silliness of people calling themselves "conservatives" while craving war, supporting big-government, and cheering state encroachment on the rights of free men.
Both are wrong... and sadly so.
