"DWPittelli signed up 2001-09-11."

You oughtta explain that story on yer profile page, my FRiend...

"...the guy is as a Democrat, although he's obviously not of the PC loony left."

Au contraire...the dude's a major Lefty Loonie, and totally misappropriate for central Virginia!! Tell him to go run against that whacko leftist in District 3...this guy has not made a dent in Cantor's lead and has brought up this phony argument to make the papers and fool my confederate brethren...but we shan't be fooled!!

Ask Cooter who he'd vote fer as House Speaker...if he answers anything other than "Gephardt", he's lyin' again!!

Hey I didn't say I supported everything the man stood for. It's just nice to see someone in the South not trying to downplay their Southern heritage and running for office

He was out of office during that time, it was a vote getting ploy. Cooter ran for congress a number of times in Georgia, even against Newt once I beleive.

Jones also flies the I LOVE TO RAISE TAXES flag

that's funny. I don't know about his politics, but I admire a guy who stands for his heritage and doesn't bow to the party-line or political correctness.

Cooter stands for nothing but his own advancement. This is nothing more than a cheap stunt to gain office. Once in office he will do like other rural dems and vote with the national party. We were glad to get rid of him here in Georgia.

He would wear a black t-shirt with a white X on it if he thought it would get him elected.

Mr. Wilder suggested that the former actor is seeking to attract votes from rural white people...

Heaven forbid!

I would still vote against Cooter, because he belongs to the most evil political party in history, and the Dukes of Hazard was a stooooopid show.

I lived in Hell, er, I mean Atlanta for 16 months, and thought I might as well be in Miami or New York. The rest of GA is great, though!

Rep. Robert C. Scott, a Democrat from Richmond whose 3rd District adjoins the 7th, agrees with the Republican incumbent. "If I had my choice, I would not campaign with the Confederate flag," says Mr. Scott

Sheesh! If Bobby Scott really had his way, he wouldn't campaign with an American flag either...

Cooter is an actor. He's acting like the good ol' boy southernor.

Economically, the guy may be an out-and-out Marxist for all I know; I just meant that if he flies the Confederate battle flag he isn't very PC.

"I lived in Hell, er, I mean Atlanta for 16 months..."

Indeed. Atlanta, like the Northern Virginia suburbs, might as well be "New York, South".

Of how many Republicans is this statement not true? After all their campaign gimmicks they also vote the expedient line. Honesty demands that before we cast the first stone.........

I'm not that certain that "Cooter's" Republican opponent will vote very differently. ("Our" John Warner doesn't.) His label, however, is more pc here.

In the face of the touchstone of truth I cannot, with integrity, ignore the recollection of how "conservative" and Constitution aware Jr was until he got elected.

It is certainly up to the voters in that district to assess which one is more likely to vote in accordance with their beliefs.

The 7th Congressional District consists mostly of metropolitan Richmond but includes rural areas in a section that stretches into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Waitaminute...metro Richmond, but this district stretches all the way to the Blue Ridge? Crikey, that's a hundred miles or more. Must be one of those gerrymandered-to-hell Interstate districts. Anybody got a map of the 7th?

Oh, and as for ol' Cooter...good on him if he wants to use the car as a cheap publicity stunt, but I'd still rather the Pubbie win.
