NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

The media were not the only ones making statements this morning. Mrs. Stone and the police spoke directly this morning. Everyone knows that as these things play out details emerge that sometimes can change the complexion of some situations. In this case, there has been nothing that has come out to cast any doubt on the credibility of Mrs. Stone.

RedBloodedAmerican's research turned up something quite interesting about one of the three "medical students" which might help someone put the puzzle pieces together. Was there information of a personal nature there beyond the e-mail address? I just took a quick glimpse before reading forward and then *poof* - gone.

I truly feel sorry if you've been hurt by thoughtless people. But - please don't follow their example by doing the same thing to police officers.

Most of them are like us. They are good American family people just trying to do a job under very difficult circumstances.

At least give them the benefit of a doubt. They have kids and families that could be killed by terrorists too.

Great point! I have flown several times since 9.11, had my chest wanded, my shoes checked each and every time, and I"ve had my bags searched a couple of times. I spend a lot of time getting the airport two hours or more early. And I'm just a short Utah lady!

Most police officers do not leak unconfirmed information to the media in such a reckless manner.

I would like to know who was the "Law Enforcement Sources" who tarnished the trust we placed on our uniformed officers.
