NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

You addressed the first half of my comments to you but not the second half.......About pressure by the open border feds to back off....

Give me one GOOD reason why Eunice would make all of this up.Look, I don't know if she had any good reasons. I just think there is more to the story here. My original post just said that if I was betting, I would bet that the man is telling the truth or a least the truth is somewhere in the middle.
In my lifetime, I have seen numerous people make false police reports, often when they are being enirely honest. Remeber a few months ago where the person opened a card on the airplane with paper confetti and the plan was immediately grounded because several hysterical passengers thought it was white powder? Mistakes happen all of the time, even more so when people arenervous.

I do not know about you, but I would not give the police a hard time if I were in their situation. If I had nothing to hide I would assist the police in order to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Now you might say well you are just using the old nothing to hide excuse, and after all we do not have to assist the police. Correct, but if there are any police on Free Republic, I would like to hear their opinion of the situation. Police after dealing with all types of people develop a sixth sense for whos telling the truth.

The Muslim organizations in America are going to attempt to make it so miserable for Ms Stone and the Florida authorities that nobody else will even think of saying 'boo' to a Muslim. They'll try, but it won't work.
Non-Muslims will never look at Middle Eastern Muslims without thinking of 9/11, ever again.

The Muslim organizations in America are going to attempt to make it so miserable for Ms Stone and the Florida authorities that nobody else will even think of saying 'boo' to a Muslim. Their aim is to make Muslims a privileged victim group in American society.
I agree with you quidnunc (great name BTW). My question is how many more sacrifices do we make upon the altar of Political Correctness before we confront the threats of militant Islam and secure our borders?

I'm glad you weren't on that jury. Why, necause I am willing to keep an open mind until I hear more facts?

And I suppose Ms. Stone made them run the toll booth, too.
These jerks deserve everything they got and I hope FL puts them in jail for a while for causing all hell to break loose. I also wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

How do you know if this is the same guy as in the FL incident? Was it reported he was from Austin?
To: Lucas1
the woman released her info to the public, the police released their info to the public, and the suspects released their info to the public, the police and woman coincide... their story, does not.they are playing the race card and also, you cannot take the risk of letting more "martyrs in waiting" bs their way out of justice, the temporary locking up of three are worth way more than the thousands of lives that could be lost if the bad guys are let free.

You addressed the first half of my comments to you but not the second half The second half is nothing more than pure speculation based upon your individual view of our policing agencies and as such I did not comment.

This morning I thought that this was a legitimate story. Now I'm having doubts
What happened to the stolen-license plate story leaked to the media by "Law Enforcement Sources"?
People in Florida do not drive away in vehicles with stolen license plates.
The other story that one of the vehicles ran a toll booth is also suspect.
When bent to stop a car, highway patrol officers often tell the booth operator to take a 'bathrooom break', and when a driver cannot find a person to pay the toll, the targeted driver gets pulled over for not paying the toll charge.
Did this happen here?
I did not hear about anyone getting a citation for failure to pay a highway toll in our local news.

They broke the law....they didn't pay their toll. They called attention to themselves in a negative way in the restaurant.
These guys are supposed medical students. If they get arrested, they could be kicked out of med school.
You can speculate about everything about these guys and 'try to be fair', but they know that they are held to a higher standard and should have acted accordingly.
As for the woman, bravo. If it looks like a shunk, smells like a skunk, and eats flowers, guess what? It's a skunk.

That's right. At that point the media was reporting what at least one police officer said to them. I personally saw at least one officer interviewed this morning who said that they said that they were only joking. How many cops talked to these punks during the 16 hours? It would only take one of the three perps saying to one of the cops, "Look, we were just joking." They were probably saying all kinds of things to deny their guilt, just to get out of that situation.
So now we have the very credible Eunice Stone and her son and at least one police officer saying that they were joking against the man who drove right through the toll booth who says that they didn't say anything, that Mrs. Stone just saw what they looked like and then called 911 with her story.
How did Stone know that they were headed to Miami?
As of now, Stone is much more credible than the students.

What happened to the stolen-license plate story leaked to the media by "Law Enforcement Sources"? They story was untrue. The plates were not stolen. The same media that reported this "fact" also reported the "fact" about them joking.
To: bootless
Honestly, why would anybody go out of their way and make up such an outrageous story in such detail? These guys are are not just liars they're bad liars.

And I suppose Ms. Stone made them run the toll booth, too. I say again: yeah, right.
So far, their behavior does not inspire confidence in their motives. So far, I wouldn't trust them as far as I can spit a tank.

Shortly after 9/11/01 polling showed approx 33% of non-Muslim Americans distrusted their Muslim neighbors.
That percentage has risen to approx. 50% and it's because while individually Muslims tend to be polite and personable, their spokesmen and organizations are aggressive, belligerent and demanding.
People see this and it doesn't sit well.
