President Bush Outlines Saddam Hussein's "Cruelties" and "Deceptions"
President Bush spoke before the United Nations and outlined Saddam Hussein's long record of defiance and deceit and the continuing threat posed by his outlaw regime. Over a decade ago the Iraqi dictator agreed to end his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and numerous other sanctions. On every account Saddam Hussein has broken his promises to the United States and to the world - jeopardizing peace and stability for every nation.
In his words to the United Nations, President Bush made clear the impending danger that exists while Saddam Hussein is still in power:
"Above all, our principles and our security are challenged today by outlaw groups and regimes that accept no law of morality and have no limit to their violent ambitions. In the attacks on America a year ago, we saw the destructive intentions of our enemies. This threat hides within many nations, including my own. In cells and camps, terrorists are plotting further destruction, and building new bases for their war against civilization. And our greatest fear is that terrorists will find a shortcut to their mad ambitions when an outlaw regime supplies them with the technologies to kill on a massive scale.
"In one place - in one regime - we find all these dangers, in their most lethal and aggressive forms, exactly the kind of aggressive threat the United Nations was born to confront.
"Twelve years ago, Iraq invaded Kuwait without provocation. And the regime's forces were poised to continue their march to seize other countries and their resources. Had Saddam Hussein been appeased instead of stopped, he would have endangered the peace and stability of the world. Yet this aggression was stopped - by the might of coalition forces and the will of the United Nations.
"To suspend hostilities, to spare himself, Iraq's dictator accepted a series of commitments. The terms were clear, to him and to all. And he agreed to prove he is complying with every one of those obligations.
"He has proven instead only his contempt for the United Nations, and for all his pledges. By breaking every pledge - by his deceptions, and by his cruelties - Saddam Hussein has made the case against himself."

"Please contact your Senators/Rep and tell them to get on board with the President." My Rep and both Senators already on board, but I'm up fer contacting others...which RINOs and Moderate RATS are wavering?!

Well, I have babbling Boxer and ChiFi Frankenstein as my senators, contacting them would be a waste of time.
My Congress Critter was one of the watermelon commies who flew to Cuba to celebrate Fidel's Birthday with him. The story was buried by our local fishwrap until we made them publish it.
Personally I want him to go public that he is against President Bush on this critical issue. Then we can have documentation to where he stands for the 2004 elections.

Good question about who is wavering! We know daschle is so clinton shouldn't be far behind but they are certainly not moderate.
Almost like silence coming from Capitol Hill today!

"...who is wavering! We know daschle is so clinton shouldn't be far behind..." If those two are wavering already, I predict a Unanimous Vote in support of the Commander-in-Chief. Well, damn close to unanimous anyway!!

Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla) lied on national TV....stating that Pres. Bush didn't make his case against Iraq. VP Cheney told Rush today that the members of the appropriate committees on Capitol Hill heard far more detailed info re. Iraq than we heard during President Bush's UN speech (and that was enough for any sane, freedom-loving adult). McBride is Nelson's pal. Maybe we should give him enough rope...Unless you think that the Democratic party is stupid enough to vote against any Iraqi resolution for partisan political purposes? Oh no. I hate knowing how many goofs we have with access to highly classified info.
We're putting on our armors and swords here in Fla., PKM.

I know! Texas and OK make it hard to do any activism with our Senators! But I will take that anyday over having RAT Senators!

Great post PKM! I think my senators are shaking in their sneakers. Wellstone & Dayton do NOT want a vote before the elections.
Everybody on board now, let's make them vote. Yes or no, show us where you stand Mr. Wellstone and Mr. Dayton.

My computer crashed recently thanks to a virus that had Free Republic in the subject. Fortunately, I borrowed my son's computer since he didn't need it this summer until mine was fixed. Almost feel like I need a backup!
It is horrible when the computer doesn't work right!
To: terilyn
Really want to see how Wellstone votes in particular. Sure hope that Coleman beats him in November!

My computer crashed recently thanks to a virus that had Free Republic in the subject. Hi PKM. That wouldn't have been the Klez virus would it? I'm getting bombarded with it on a daily basis; one of which seemed to be associated with a capwiz pic. So far McAfee has caught 'em all(I think). But tomorrow's another day.
