I revived it because of the Peterson verdict. I usually revive it for the March for Life but this seemed a good time. Stop by any year. :-}

Thanks jwalsh07. I have long held that Roe v. Wade is the Dred Scott decision of the 20th Century.

Like Gypsy, I saw this thread in recent posts and didn't realize it was two years old. But it is most appropriate even now, especially in light of the Peterson verdict.

It's amazing that this technology is out there and yet we are still having this debate. If the media played this up like they played up panties on the head over in Iraq, the pro-life majority in this country would be 80% or thereabouts.

Yeah, I usually revive it for the March for Life but today seemed an appropriate day. Conner is with the Lord now but his death may be one of those shots hear around the world in the abortion debate.

Keep on keeping on.

Because the fetus depends on the mother for life...

After the fetus is born, it is still unable to sustain itself. It cannot procure food for itself, it cannot house itself or protect itself from the elements, it cannot survive on its own for a number of years. By that logic, it should be OK to kill a fetus long after birth.

Ok, here's the question. Is this baby a person?

To the LEFT, this CHILD is nothing more than a blob of cells. Of course, the LEFT is directly responsible for the slaughter of over 100 million human beings last century (via NAZISM, COMMUNISM, SOCIALISM, etc.). The 'State sponsored' butchering of children they now openly advocate is inconsequential by comparison, as far as the LEFT is concerned.

The placental barrier exists to protect the unborn baby from the toxicants of the mother. God is pretty smart.

Yes, Conner was a person

Sharon Rocha (Conner's Grandma) watches as President Bush signs the
Unborn Victims of Violence Act during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House

Technology is changing the way people think about abortion, that I am sure of.

nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property

It's a circular argument. It goes right back to the original question asked at the top of this thread; "Is this a person?"

Define the word and then you can apply the 14th Amendment accordingly.

Please forgive me.

Almost everything I say is an exclamation! ;-)

The guilty verdict today in Scott Peterson's case was good for pro-life folks.
The fact that the baby was considered a person, that could be murdered, is a change in how the public will look at a "fetus". Hopefully, it will help in overturning Roe v Wade.
