A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

When Jim Robinson's name was mentioned for the FReeper of the Day, all of us wanted to be the one to feature him! However, instead of flipping a coin or fighting it out to see who won :), St.Louie suggested that JustAmy probably knew him better and longer than the rest of us, so why not ask her to write his tribute? Seemed like a great idea, and when Amy agreed, another thought came to mind:
We could all work on this one! Louie had already created that wonderful graphic of Jim and Sheila above; Amy would write the main thread, MamaBear and daisyscarlett could each say a few words, and I would put it all together. YES! We had a plan! Here, then, is the result of our tribute to the man who is FReeRepublic, and the wonderful woman behind him.
Jim is not just a Vietnam Vet in a wheelchair. Neither is he just the founder of FreeRepublic. Jim is a man with strong beliefs and a deep love of his God, his family and his country.
Jim will take to the air or to the road to show his dedication to his beliefs. After making 3 trips to DC (March for Justice, Judgment Day and House Managers Tribute Rally and Dinner), he eagerly attended the Freeper's Inaugural Ball. This Ball was possible, in part, to Jim's and FreeRepublic's 'SoreLoserman' Rallies and dedication to removing all signs of Clinton/Gore.
What's next on the agenda? How about Scumbag, Gary Condidit? Jim spent many Saturday's driving 4 hours to Modesto where he could join the Modesto Freepers for 2 hours in calling for Condit's removal from office.
Since 9-11-2001, Jim and his family can be found every Friday night at the corner of Shaw and Blackstone (Patriots Corner) counter-protesting the war protesters and showing his support for President Bush's war on terrorism and his support for our military.
Although Sheila does not always agree with his political views, they share their belief in God and their love of family and country. You will find her at his side Friday evenings for The Support Our Troops Rallies. She may entertain with her rendition of "We don't smoke marijuana at Shaw and Blackstone."
It is impossible to spotlight Jim and Sheila without acknowledging Chris, pictured at right. He not only makes sure they get where they need to be, whether it be Washington, DC or Patriots Corner. He gladly picks up a sign of support and carries the flag as he keeps the boom box volume turned high.

What can I say about Jim Robinson that has not been said many times over? While I was pondering this question, it occurred to me how different my life would be without this wonderful website. Jim Robinson's FreeRepublic is my home on the internet. Actually, it is Jim's home on the internet and he has opened it up to all of us.
This is where I come to meet like-minded people who share my values, my love for God and country and my fears for her future. Here we can link arms and hearts in supporting our conservative causes while making life-long FRiendships, and having fun all at the same time! I have never met a finer group of people and it is because of Jim that we have this place to gather.
In short, Jim's dedication to his country, to his conservative values and to this website is inspiring. I believe I am a better person for knowing him and the many fine patriots who frequent this site. No, I cannot imagine my life without FreeRepublic. Thank you and God bless you, Jim.
~ Mama_Bear
I still get chills when I see the above photo of you leading the March for Justice in Washington D.C. in 1998 calling for the impeachment of President William Jefferson Clinton. I do not know what I can add to all of the nice things that have been said about you, and certainly will be said about you again today, except that I agree with all of them. We can never thank you enough for FREE REPUBLIC. God Bless you Jim Robinson.
~ daisyscarlett
In closing, I want to add only my thanks, once again, for your vision, Jim, in creating the greatest conservative site on the net. And Amy has asked me to remind everybody that she will be posting many more photos from the family album throughout the day! So let this be the last thread all of you check before turning off your pc tonight!
